If NYT article is true then Rod Rosenstein is toast and he gets fired. Then NYT is not fake news? ... and Rod and Robert Mueller lose their jobs under heavy attack from the White House.

If NYT article is false then NYT gets trashed as the ultimate fake paper. Rod keeps his job and Mueller is safe...

... can go on with tons of alternative outcomes.

I think its a trap... NYT is correct but incomplete and ultimately puts Trump in trouble if he actually fires Rod.

They don't want to say who made the statements but it does seem that of the people at the meeting, Ms Page and her Side kick are the best suspects. They are doing a Payback for loosing their jobs. So thin so taken out of verbal context.

If Rosenstein was just being sarcastic, and obviously it was never done, so what? The onus of proof falls on the reporter. He has to prove it in fact a calculated plan. If he can't, it's just rumor or in court, hearsay. Sometime for small minds to spend time with.
