Trump's accomplishment in this area has been that, by leveraging the Presidential (Twitter) bully pulpit, he has been successful in re-directing the definition of the word away from its original meaning - the blatantly, sometimes comically, false stories and narratives belched out goofy right wing websites like Alex Jones and Brietbart.

The importance of a true Free Press is critical to our country. The Press has been on a slippery slope to the Left for a couple of decades or more. When Donald Trump shocked the world, the vast majority of the press jumped off the deep end and are now a weapon of the Left. We currently have 90% of the Press operating as an attack force for the Left and the other 10% fighting back for the Right. We have no true independent press at all.

If the Fake News label helps bring back a true Free and Independent Press, then that will be President Trump's greatest accomplishment.
