Faith Healing Parents Assert Religious Rights

Wow, eight posts in a row.

There are commendable aspects of Scripture, for instance, that are routinely ignored by modern religious conservatives, such as the endorsement of libertarian communism contained in the book of Acts.
Yeah, I thought I only made four, but then I went back to read through them, and they...just...wouldn't...end! Like zombies!

Aren't the precepts that you apply politically as "libertarian communism" preached for in specific circumstances, like in the contexts of the Scriptures? Do you think that they apply as easily to the modern American system?

Yeah ... considering how many die of heart attacks. I wonder if anyone has the stats that show the correlation handy, just to see if observation measures fact, it's the last few hours of my b-day and I am too tired and relaxed to search myself.
Happy happy birthday! You look not a day over the age you want to look like!

I would say they do to a greater extent than prohibitions of adultery do. What specific aspect of them is inapplicable to the American system? We have seen that libertarian communism can serve in an industrialized setting, and that similar forms of libertarian socialism can serve for millions, as we saw in the Spanish Revolution.

I have often said that the Christians should be the Democrats and the Jews should be the Republicans, instead of the other way around, but I don't support socialism or communism for such a large and socially unconnected population as our own.

I suppose that's a discussion for another thread, but we already have some measure of social democracy in merely retaining social programs. The partial nationalization of the auto industry that might occur would be an example of a partial conversion to a command economy, given that it would be based on central planning. Evidently, socialism is acceptable in that regard, though I would prefer a decentralized planning scheme based on democratic input.

As for Jewish Republicans, I'm quite sure that inhabitants of kibbutzim don't claim the label of anti-socialist.

Kibbutzim are revolving doors that even still are slowly and steadily drying up. They also only involve small isolated true communities that are self-contained and concentrated inward with no outward influence.

Also, that is my point, in a way. Jews do seem to like the "Democrat Party," but if you look at the Torah and the traditions and what they are supposed to believe, they should be Republicans.

Did you have a deathly illness during your childhood?

one time my dad left me locked in a car in the hot arizona desert heat and i almost died, i got sunburned so bad it was blood red. but he didnt take me to the doctor because he doesnt believe in them. he felt bad about forgetting he locked me in the car., if I had a childhood illness I guess I wouldnt know because nobody diagnosed me.

Sunburns aren't things you go to the doctor for anyway.

You got a sunburn behind car windows?

I don't think that possible.

But what is possible is that you were in the first stage of heat prostration and your skin was flushed as a result of it.

You and your dad are lucky you didn't die, Chloe.

Neither infections of pnemonia are "easily treated" illnesses, by the way. Babies die of pnemonia and infections all the time...WITH treatment.

While I agree based on the teachings of the two religions, the practices are generally more important than the teachings, how people behave towards others is more defining of their religion.

*sighs* Babies also have a very weak immune system, however neglecting them based on religious belief is the same as abortion.
