Facts Falling Off the Fiscal Cliff, Boehner refuted

Actually reading it shows only some fudging on the edges, in general Fact Check is agreeing with much of what he said.

In actuality, the amount raised by removing the tax cuts from those over $250k would raise around $80b; problem is the deficit is going up by more than 1.25T per year. Nope, to get that kind of money, some others are going to pony up much more and still cuts will be needed. Can't just be on defense, that only works once.

No they're not largely agreeing with what he said, they're stating he's exaggerating the numbers and repeating claims that aren't as factual as he claims.

One baby step at a time. First do what is clearly necessary -- expire the tax cuts for the rich. Then decide what other steps are required.

Boehner lying????
Oh I'm shocked.

Boner has his back against the wall and he knows it. He needs to get his head out of his ass or he will lose his job and get another GOP ass whoopin' in 2014.

Boehner will lose his job when he stops obstructing obama and gets voted out of office.

As we all know, during the Clinton tax rates (which were higher for everyone, not just rich people), the economy really sucked. Our GDP climbed, the budget was balanced, tax revenues as a percentage of GDP also climbed, and something like 25 million jobs were created, as compared to Bush's 3 million.

It was horrible! We must not return to the days of 25 million job creation, balanced budgets, and higher GDP!

Yes, they are. Now if you ask me, I'm for getting McConnell out of leadership role, he just is not a country first person. That's for the GOP to deal with. I think the Dems should do the same with Reid, for same reasons.

Boehner you can work with, like most in Congress.

You can't expect to close the deficit with cuts in expenditures and tax increases alone. They are necessary, but as much as a sign that we're being serious as the dollar amount they represent. If we look like we're steering away from the brink, people feel better about the direction of the country. When people feel better, they spend more. When people spend more, more jobs are created to meet the demand. When more people have jobs, more revenue is collected. So, it's not just about the money, but more importantly, it's about growing the economy.

You must be hard of reading because they're clearly saying Boehner is exaggerating the impact of letting the Bush taxcuts for the wealthiest Americans expire and that Boehner lied when he said more than half of the wealthiest Americans are small business owners.
