These are facts about American products.

1. They are often made by poorly lead companies who have had a dynasty for leadership thereby providing its workers with a Glass Ceiling, and longstanding bigotries against hiring certain people.
And a long standing, outdated culture of not caring about anything besides maximizing both its profits, and the level of socioeconomic difference between the CEO and the Secretary.

2. The products themselves have often been made since the mid twentieth century, and are now in danger of being discontinued because of its inability to adhere to both modern regulation, the poverty created by the CEOs themselves, and people's taste in products.

3. The imported tools that are used, are often of better quality than the products being made.

4. The American products are often made to Non-Metric specifications, and made to adhere to a nationalistic culture that is unique in the world from a unique history that is NOT shared outside of the USA.
And they are made to adhere to only certain kinds of American customer's ideas about products and how they should be.

Some American products are downright dangerous to consume, because of cheap corner cutting to lower cost, and to lower dependency upon its southern neighbors for resources to make the products from.

These such products are simply not as modern, nor as safe, nor as well made as Products from South America, Canada, Europe and Japan.

Maybe his Industry was off-shored?

This behavior is being enabled by the federal government. When the law protects you from competition, there is no motivation to push the limit quality wise.

That's funny, because the USA's products suck in terms of quality, and has since about the 1990s.

You are one bitter dude. Without giving my career away, I have an deep CEO level relationship with probably an average of 6 businesses a year, almost all manufacturing. I suppose you've bounced around so have maybe worked on the production floor in 6 over the course of your career?

To your points;

1. I think American family businesses have been overly nostalgic and I believe the next 50 years will be a much tougher environment as we compete globally. If you're complaining now about the Chinese, just wait until you meet the coming wave of automation. Don;t want to work for a family business? There is always private equity owned or public.

2. You rambled a bit. Yea, poorly run companies who did not have the discipline to reinvest earnings often get into trouble. I've seen it happen in Mexico, China, Europe and Canada as well.

3. Yes on tools. 4. Yes on metric. It's embarrassing and quite telling about our laziness as a nation.

Then you take a big leap to this conclusion;
Some American products are downright dangerous to consume, because of cheap corner cutting to lower cost, and to lower dependency upon its southern neighbors for resources to make the products from. I haven't seen it. Oh, I have seen pressures but I've seen them in Europe and Canada. Having seen what regulators can do to a company and an entrepreneur, I think our laws are taken very seriously. The FDA, IRS, Labor, EPA all have police units and power of incarceration. If you know some jackass running afoul of these laws, you ought to report him. But dont pretend that one bad example can paint thousands of entrepreneurs.

The USA isn't the richest per capita.
The USA's high GDP today, runs on what is today an UNEARNED reputation, EARNED about 50 Years ago.

1+1 does not always equal 2 in why a country would be rich.

The USA's high GDP today, runs on what is today an UNEARNED reputation, .

best universities in world!!! 60% of all recent patents!!!!! biggest and best military by far in history of world? Case closed now?

nope, not the best universities either.
First of all they are one of America's most discrimination filled institutions, and most students in the USA go to them needing remedial courses, they're understaffed, and overpopulated with students, and the staff are not as highly educated as they should be.

The USA's military would get the fucking shit knocked right the fuck out of it inside of a month by European powers, based on skill and experience, and the fact the the USA is the only country in NATO that ever asked NATO for help.

I am glad someone can comprehend this op, because I read it twice and don't get what his point is?

Seriously American made cars were better in the 80s then today?

Or just about anything American made today.

American made cars were better in the 1970s / 80s compared to other cars in the world at that same time.
Of course today cars are better.... but a 1970 / 80s car, isn't compared to todays cars
