In the german language 'ei' makes 'eye' sound. 'ie' makes 'eeee' sound.

According to the dictionary it can be pronounced either way.

I usually pronounce it however it would sound best in the sentence that I am using at that moment. So the answer is either way.

...just shows that some ppl prefer to pronounce the word poorly.


Like those who pronouce 'often' as 'OFF-TEN', when everyone knows it's best pronounced 'off-en'...Off-TEN is used to give an aire of 'sophistication' and stuff and junk.



Eye-thir way, Grammar is something we should work on off-en.
