We have over 500 companies making profits off of sick people and we still rate 37th in general health and longevity and we have more people in prison than any other country in the world.

"The United States of America has an incarceration rate of 743 per 100,000 of national population (as of 2009), the highest in the world. In comparison, Russia has the second highest 577 per 100,000, Canada is 123rd in the world with 117 per 100,000, and China has 120 per 100,000. While Americans only represent about 5 percent of the world's population, one-quarter of the entire world's inmates are incarcerated in the United States"

Since about 1 in 10 of Blacks are in prison I wonder if there's any correlation to racism.

We are the worlds best inovators.

We lead the way to democracy and have a system that can correct even out current problems.

America is awesome

One thing I haven't forgotten...Ronald Reagan. He started as a Democrat and the president of a union. When his grade B movies began to make some serious dollars he converted to the party of the wealthy and began to borrow from foreign banks to fund low taxes for them. Under his watch the national debt quadrupled and 7,000,000 citi ens became poverty stricken. He clobbered collective bargaining and lied repeatedly about selling missles to Iran. Most of his last term he was showing the first signs of al hemiers and went to Nancy and her astrologist for decisions. He outspent any other president in our history on defense and as it turns out got his SDI "Star Wars" idea from a 1940 movie he starred in. Other than that I guess he was alright.

We are the melting pot.

it makes for a population that thinks out of the box

You are right, truthmatters, but I wonder now if the immigrants are coming for the wrong reasons.

Everyone wanted to assimilate into the American way in earlier years. Not so much today. Just how many immigrants are calling themselves Americans as they once did?

I don't mind saying that I'm all in favor of giving malcontents a one way ticket to the Progressive mecca of their choice: Cambodia, Cuba, China or Russia, etc.

a very convincing argument for not voting Republican especially in view of the fact that obamie has added 4 to 5 trillion in debt since he took office. That's some very rational and good thinking there dud.

No. That's not how it goes. YOU provided info, now prove it with your world of links.

I'm sorry you don't love this country as you once did. Perhaps we will gain your confidence with new leadership. We still are the free-est land in the world.

I am not sure we are number 1 anymore. Nor why it matters if we are.

I simply want us to stop with this mediocrity when we can be doing so much better than we are. I want us to stop doing the expedient or corrupt thing and start doing the correct thing.

We are number one because of jingoism. Just like everyone thinks their mom is the best cook. Your mom isn't the best, mine is. Get it?
