You can call the labor statistics wrong if you like, but not really NOLA since that's all he's repeating. 25 is used I imagine because most people at that age are still 'kids' when it comes to their working experience. Most people aren't into a career yet. They're finishing college to start a career. Meaning the jobs they are working are low skill level, low pay jobs for supplemental income.

Minimum wage is not and should not be perceived as a living wage, where you support yourself and a family on it. It should merely the starting point, the entry level into the business world for most young people. You're supposed to be moving up the income ladder, not staying in place, although I grant that the past 3 years or so have made that hard to do.

Seems logical to me that raising the minimum wage only reduces the number of those entry level jobs, which is not a good thing IMHO. The world does not owe you a living wage, or a good job. It's up to each individual to make themselves worth more to employers, and it's not the gov'ts job to intervene.

You are making money building widgets. The wage you pay is not enough to pay for rent, food, power and medical care in your area. Rather than paying your employees enough to live on.....you tell them to get the rest from the taxpayers
