Examiner Editorial: Closing The Books On The Worst Congress.

Bush left with Democrats in control of the government which also included obama. Have you looked at obamas deficet latly?

The Democrats were not "in control of government". They had a wide majority in one house and not enough to prevent obstruction in the other when Bush left.

And yes, I've seen both Bush's final budget year deficit and the smaller projected deficit for Obama's first budget year. I've also seen the things that created those deficits:

1. Two unfunded wars.
2. A massive entitlement expansion, wholly unfunded
3. a steeply declining economy
4. tax cuts.

Which of those do you blame on Obama?

You sound like the democrats when they threaten to fillabuster any legislation regarding freddy and fanny

Democrats never threatened to filibuster FM/FM reform. The bill could never even make it out of a Republican-majority committee on a straight up or down vote.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Been doing this for a decade now. Wanna keep diggin ya hole?

I also realize that History was not your best subject....so your frame of reference is very limited
Guess that's a yes. As I've said before, history and literature were my best subjects and HS. Looks like you were constantly stuck in special ed. judging by your posts.:cuckoo:

GWB SIGNED TARP, give credit where it's due Mr. Desperate.

As is obvious, both have failed miserably.

Says you.:lol::cuckoo:

Thanks to OUR votes.
Health Care Reform will have an impact that will last for generations. No bans on pre-existing conditions, no caps in coverage if you get too sick, insurance pools to cover those 30 million without insurance
Almost NO ONE wants your flawed, UNconstitutional, authoritarian, socialist mess. It's a dead law walking.

START is viewed by the world as an additional step in nuclear disarmament
I've already pwned this retarded "argument"

There we have it folks! "right"winger tries to give the Jackass Congress all the credit for TARP in another one of his smoke and mirrors tricks, just like his screen name.

Sorry man-child, but all we have to go on is what you post. Your glaring lack of understanding of basic political principles, historical precidents and global implications shows you have but a superficial understanding of politics which you gain by cutting and pasting right wing one-liners

Perhaps Mr. Obama was talking about George W. Bush. But Mr. Bush spent five years pushing to further regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He was blocked by Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd and Rep. Barney Frank. Arriving in the Senate in 2005, Mr. Obama backed up Mr. Dodd's threat to filibuster Mr. Bush's needed reforms.

Karl Rove Says Barack Obama's Speeches Address Positions Republicans Don't Hold - WSJ.com

But Mr. Dodd wasn't the only Democrat to heap abuse on the Bush reforms. Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts defended Fannie and Freddie as "fundamentally sound" and labeled the president's proposals as "inane." He later voted for the reforms. Sen. Charles Schumer of New York dismissed Mr. Bush's "safety and soundness concerns" as "a straw man." "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," was the helpful advice of both Sen. Thomas Carper of Delaware and Rep. Maxine Waters of California. Rep. Gregory Meeks of New York berated a Bush official at a hearing, saying, "I am just pissed off" at the administration for raising the issue.

Oh really?

Can you enlighten us with the proposed agenda? Boehner will pale in comparison to Pelosi. He will be another Denny Hastert

I'll give you an accomplishment....Balance the budget

Lets see if Boehner can deliver on his promises

Boehner will pale in comparison to Pelosi.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz50_MWWKwg&feature=more_related[/ame]

Still does not adress a simple question...What is on John Boehners agenda to accomplish in the next two years....we all know that defeating Obama is his primary focus , but what exactly does he propose to accomplish to mark his term as better than Pelosis?

Pelosi will be tough to beat....she accomplished most of her agenda

There are different ways to view that question RW, I mean think about it a minute. From one perspective, if we were playing a game of Chess or Checkers, and you sincerely asked me what my next 5 moves were, how should I react? If I told you my moves, you would defend your interest by any means at hand. Delay, obstruction, diversion, ploy, whatever. Maybe you should continue to work on your plan, and we will work on ours. What do you say? ;) Pelosi was probably the single most reason this Congress was a fail. Our problem on the Right is getting past the Republican Statist Career Politicians, that will try to obstruct the process. There are many open opportunities to start cutting spending, from fraud, waste, redundant services. What is important now is to start the ball rolling.

The "game" is for the well being of the country. Asking an incoming Speaker of the House to have an agenda and plan of action for the next two years is not asking too much.

"I can't tell you" is not an appropriate response

Why is it that you want to lay all the blame at Bush and the GOP?

Not all, most. And deservedly so.

Not all? give some examples.

Examples of what Republicans did right? Look, I was trying to be nice. I really can't think of anything.

They ignored the victims of Katrina and lied about helping them and then put the survivors in carcinogenic trailers. I don't know they could have done a worse job.

In Iraq, the government there is now hard right Islamic, women are enslaved and have gone from western style dress to burkas. Gays are murdered (except many Republicans may see that as a "silver lining").

The economy is a mess. 2001 to 2008, millions of jobs moved to China. From the beginning of Bush's first budget, the jobless rate was 4.6% and at the end of his final budget, the rate was 9.7%.

Bush repealed regulations for clean air and clean water. He ruined the Justice Department. He demoralized the CIA. He make enemies all over the world. He lied to America.

Bush let Bin Laden go and publicly stated over and over again he didn't think about him.

Bush couldn't have done these things on his own. He was supported every step of the way by the Republican Party. There is nothing here untrue. In fact, it's way, way worse. This is only the barest outline of what that Party did to this country and are still doing and will continue to do.

Two points come to mind. First there are things you and I are not Privy to. Second, you can exercise a little patience. The House is not yet under Republican control. Other than that educate yourself.

Bush had a democratic controlled Congress with obama as senator who also voted a few times.

Why do you guys keep saying that? The Senate can filibuster everything as Republicans have shown with a record breaking number of filibusters in each of the last four years . As long as they have 41 votes. During the last two years of the Bush administration, Republicans and Democrats both had 49 votes, with two independents, one of which endorsed John McCain. Please explain how this is "control".

49-49 with two liberal independents....stop with your bullshit deen'o. You still can't admit that those 2 independents casts votes with the liberals agenda.....:cuckoo:

You stop damnit. What the fuck is wrong with you? One of those independents ENDORSED McCain.

And look at the filibuster Senate today. Record filibusters every year for the last four fucking years.

And what did Republicans do? They passed trillions for millionaires and billionaires using "reconciliation". They passed Medicare Part D costing unknown trillions using "reconciliation". The fuckers. They can't follow the rules, but they sure can skip them when they want to.

Is this what you're defending? Seriously, you are defending the Republican Party? After what they did? Why? Give me at least on good reason why. And "because they aren't Democrats" isn't a good reason.

A good reason starts off with, "Because they .......".

You're going to blame Bush for something that is happening 2 years after he left office?

Your proving yourself to be a complete idiot, deen'o. Just because Lieberman endorsed McCain does not equate to him voting with the republican on issues. The percentage is about 90% of the time he votes with the democrats.....so knock off that bit of stupidity from you, Okay?

Until our administration can prove that they can cut spending, I don't want any tax increases....for anyone. All it would equate to is more spending from our government with higher deficits to go along with it. I can't believe that you have been hooked, lined and sinkered into going along with what the democrats want to do.....and that is redistribute the wealth. Thank God for the fillibuster in our government.

Harry Dresden is right about you.....I'm going to have to rep him for his keen insight.

Wealth was redistributed from the middle class to the top 1.7%. The greatest redistribution of wealth in world history. Gawd you guys are dumb.

Honestly, I don't know what you're talking about. Obama had a US rep ONSITE the very day of the oil spill. Bin Laden was given a 9 year head start. You have to stop watching FOX. It's a foreign and Arab owned news organization. They don't report the truth. Figure out why.

What's especially hilarious about the oil spill? It was "scientists" who figured out how to stop the flow of oil. Get it? It was "scientists". Could you imagine if Republicans had been in charge? The party of "anti science"? Weren't there Republicans who wanted to nuke the spill? Could you imagine?

I love it when right wingers try to point out Democrats "mistakes".

Every single thing Democrats are doing is aimed at fixing a Republican fuck up.

45 DAYS DEAN 45 DAYS BEFORE OBAMA RESPONDED. There were countries that hasd ships that could have helped but obama denied them the chance to help.
