There definitely is a 2 tier justice system, one for Democrat connected scum, the other for all the rest of us!

Imran Awan, the former IT aide to congressional Democrats whose federal bank fraud case has drawn the interest of top Republicans, avoided jail time Tuesday after the defense complained about disparaging comments made against the defendant by President Trump and others.

During a hearing Tuesday in Washington, U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan sentenced Awan to three months of supervised release plus time served. Chutkan, who cited “unfounded allegations” against Awan, also did not impose a fine.

Awan, who pleaded guilty in July to making a false statement on a loan application, delivered an emotional statement vowing: “I promise you this second chance will not go to waste.”

The prosecution, in a recent sentencing memorandum, did not advocate jail time for Awan.

Federal guidelines recommended a sentence of zero to six months in jail, followed by two to five years of supervised release. Prosecutors said they did not oppose a noncustodial sentence.

The case had generated great interest from conservatives, who suggested Awan could have been involved in a cyber breach operation. Awan, who was arrested last summer at Dulles International Airport before trying to board a flight to Pakistan, worked as a technology employee to top Democrats, including Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

But prosecutors said during July’s plea hearing that they investigated allegations of misconduct by Awan while on the job in Congress and said they "uncovered no evidence" that Awan "violated federal law with respect to the House computer systems."

I'm obviously missing something here. The federal guidelines are zero to six months in jail anyways. How is he getting off by not going to jail?

Who were the prosecutors? The whole government is currently Republican and yet the prosecutors basically let him off. That either tells us theres no actual evidence of crime and it was all just fake news, or the Republicans are weak even while in control of the federal government.

Anyone complaining really needs to get a grip. They are the same ones crying about Clinton still not in jail every time one of trumps good people gets another criminal charge. If theres no special counsel for Clinton, of theres no major case, it's on the Republicans at this point for either lieing about it all or being too spineless to do anything. We're approaching 2 years into a Republican government and all of their fake news is being aired out.

He didn't get away with anything. He pleaded guilty, and they sentenced him based on federal guidelines, plus time served. It's a non-story.

The judge was appointed by Obama and he has worn a gps bracelet, not in jail

I'm obviously missing something here. The federal guidelines are zero to six months in jail anyways. How is he getting off by not going to jail?
Yeah, you are, he was out of jail with a gps monitor.

Exactly. The federal guidlines are zero to six months, and supervised release. He received zero months and was under supervised release. I don't see where he got away with anything.

Yet, you have this guy getting 8 years-
Former Arkansas State Senator Jake C. Files was sentenced to 18 months in prison for orchestrating a scheme to obtain approximately $46,500 in state government funds through fraudulent means and for obtaining approximately $56,700 in loan proceeds, also through fraudulent means.

Awan actually tried to flee the country, and sent the funds overseas to Pakistan, yet he gets no time. If you don’t see something wrong here, I can’t help ya.

Oh, and lest we forget this-
removing hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment from congressional offices, including computers and servers, while also running a procurement scheme in which they bought equipment, then overcharged the House administrative office that assigns such contractors to members.

He was never charged for it, and an investigation led by a Trump appointed US Attorney, and former Trump transition team member found no evidence that he broke any law.

Interestingly enough, he wasn’t charged for it in 2015, by none other than Wasserman-Schultz’s son in law. Interesting factoid, that.

Yes, one judge presiding over one crime will deal out a different sentence than another judge presiding over a completely different crime. That's why we call them "judges", and have federal guidelines for different crimes.

As for Awan, he probably was trying to flee the country. The timing between him sending the money, and "visiting his family" is too suspicious, but it's hard to prove. I'm sure that's why he was slapped with the GPS monitor. You can't prove that he was trying to flee the country, but you can prove that he had the means to, making him a flight risk. He's probably a scumbag, but our justice system is what it is. :dunno:

DOJ Agrees Not to Prosecute Imran Awan for House Cybersecurity and Theft, But Questions Remain | The Stream
The Department of Justice said it found “found no evidence that [Imran] illegally removed House data from the House network or from House Members’ offices, stole the House Democratic Caucus Server, stole or destroyed House information technology equipment, or improperly accessed or transferred government information.”

That statement appears to take issue — without explaining how — with the findings of the House’s Nancy Pelosi-appointed inspector general, its top law enforcement official, the sergeant-at-arms, and the statements of multiple Democratic aides.

In September 2016, the House Office of Inspector General gave House leaders a presentation that alleged that Alvi, Imran, brothers Abid Awan and Jamal Awan, and a friend were logging into the servers of members who had previously fired him and funneling data off the network. It said evidence “suggests steps are being taken to conceal their activity” and that their behavior mirrored a “classic method for insiders to exfiltrate data from an organization.”

Server logs show, it said, that Awan family members made “unauthorized access” to congressional servers in violation of House rules by logging into the servers of members who they didn’t work for.

The presentation especially found problems on one server, that of the House Democratic Caucus, an entity chaired at the time by then-Rep. Xavier Becerra of California.

On Feb. 3, 2017, Paul Irving, the House’s top law enforcement officer, wrote in a letter to the Committee on House Administration that soon after it became evidence, the server went “missing.”

The letter continued: “Based upon the evidence gathered to this point, we have concluded the employees are an ongoing and serious risk to the House of Representatives, possibly threatening the integrity of our information systems.”

Imran, Abid, Jamal, Alvi and a friend were banned from the House network the same day Kiko sent the letter.

Once again, protecting their own.

I see fake news and conspiracy. The deep state doesnt exist. Every judge that doesnt deliver a preferred ruling isn't a plant. My point is that you guys need to open your eyes and see that this is all trumps and GOP government in action. The conspiracy needs to end if they dont do anything. If the conspiracies dont end, you all are plain insane. You are making a fantasy world to fit your crooked warped perspective.
