Every scientific theory must survive rigorous testing of its theorems and conclusions, the math must be checked and double checked.


A great book on how scientific discovery actually works is called Microbe Hunters by Paul De Kruif. He goes over all the tests that Koch, Pastuer and Walter Reed did to prove their theories. The true mark of the scientists is he will go over every objection and make sure the objection has no place to stand before he tells the world his theory.

And even after it is proven correct, it is still tested tested tested. And errors are found and corrected. Newton turned physics on its head, but he had the numbers and facts to support him. Until Faraday came along and raised some new and interesting questions that no one had thought of before.

This is the kind of bullshit Galileo had to contend with concerning his multiple theories which all have long since been proven and accepted. He was threatened with and accused of heresy and members of his family were actually accused and punished.

The proof is that after decades of study the most educated people in the scientific world have come to an agreement about the present state of global warming and it ain't nature doing it. The warming trend that we currently enjoy started when the cooling trend led to the lowest lows of the Little Ice Age ended. That was 1600.

Wide spread use of the Steam Engine signaled the Industrial Revolution and that started in the 1800's. You seem to unquestioningly follow whatever lead is put around your throat, but, seriously, do you never question anything?

The planet has cooled by about a degree over the last 8000 years, warmed by less than a degree in the last 2000 years and the rate of warming per millennium has slowed in the second millennium compared to the first one.

Even the softest question reveals AGW as a farce and swindle. Take off your blinders and try to prove it. I did and that's what convinced me it was a sham.

How it was Proven Wrong:

For years after, the idea of cold fusion became synonymous with fringe science. Still, despite the stigma attached to it, many have argued that there was never anything necessarily wrong about cold fusion as a theory. In recent years, scientists have once again started to experiment with new ways of achieving a so-called “tabletop nuclear reaction,” with some even claiming to have achieved surprising success.
