I think Bush did what he really thought was best for the US. Obama most certainly did not, helping Iran become a regional power, and letting North Korea become a larger threat.

Clinton surely didn't. Here's a guy that made the case that for national security, we had to remove Saddam from power, that we had to go in and verify the destruction of WMDs, and that we knew he was trying to make connections with known terrorist groups.

But the moment people protested us going into Iraq, Billy Clinton backed down, and suddenly that whole national security problem wasn't nearly as important as his approval numbers.

That's one of the reasons I respected Bush. Bush knew he wasn't going to be popular for going into Iraq, and he didn't care, because he believed he was doing what was right.

Basically, all of the left-wing is exactly what you just said. They are in it for themselves, before the country. The right-wing is in it for the country, and you can tell because they do what they think is right for the country, even if sniveling snotty left-wingers hate them for it.

Two decades of economic sanctions and some creative espionage had brought the Iranian nuclear weapons program to a standstill.

In a 2015 interview with CNN, then President Obama admitted that Iran could quickly develop nuclear weapons almost immediately after the restrictions of his deal expired in 2025.

After three years of Obama’s deal, Iran retains their centrifuges, most of their known Uranium stocks, and all of their unknown stocks. Their ballistic missile program and state sponsored terrorism weren’t even addressed by the deal.

A nuclear armed Iran is more of a threat to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the gulf states than to Israel. Their animosity for all those states is unambiguous.

Sanctions delivered 20 years of nominal peace with Iran and the only reason to lift them was to give a payday to EU companies.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is signaling it won’t be feasible to offer wide-ranging compensation to European companies affected by U.S. sanctions over Iran’s nuclear program.

President Donald Trump last week withdrew the U.S. from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, but European signatories vowed to salvage it. Merkel said Thursday after EU leaders met in Bulgaria that “all European Union member states still stand by this agreement.”

But she was cautious about possible compensation for companies that do business with Iran. She said that “we can see whether we can give small and medium-sized companies certain relief. That is being examined.”

However, Merkel added: “As for compensating all businesses in a comprehensive way for such measures by the United States of America, I think we cannot and must not create illusions.”
