LOL - me too. The whole thing pissed me off. You can't comparmentalize your personal philosophies to fit within the framework of someone else's reference.

I checked every damn one that I didn't like any of the answers. Got a zero match with every so-called philosopher (personally I think they're by and large just a pack of pompous asses).

Come to think of it, coming up with no matches actually IS the most likely match for me.

1. Aquinas (100%)
All life has a purpose
Meeting this purpose allows one to be happy.
Happiness is to be found in the love of God.
God's grace providing entrance into heaven creates the highest form of human happiness.
Short of heaven, a person can achieve a more limited form of happiness through a life of virtue and friendship.
Morality is not determined by the arbitrary will of God.

2. Aristotle (88%)
The life of virtue is rewarding for the individual and the community.
The essence of a thing does not exist independent of the thing.
There is no completely universal idea of "the good."
There is an individualized ideal form for all living things.
In living in accordance with their true nature, humans will find the most enjoyment out of reasoning.

3. Spinoza (78%)
Determinist
Something must have a desirable affect on man in order to be good
Must understand determinism of the world

I think that there are only 'so many' truly philosophical questions to be asked. They are the problems of the ages. Give or take some, all of us fit within the great thinkers. Perhaps not perfectly, but to a greater or lesser degree.

Aquinas suprises the hell out of me. Had there been more (any?) questions
concerned with diety, my agreement with him would have been much less, and my agreement with Hume much more.

On the other hand, I subscibe to Kant's categorical imperative- question #7 in the test (although I fall woefuly short of practicing it), and I am highly sympathetic to Mill's Utilitarianism (even though Kant would not be).
