Glued hands to wall, kicked, bit, hit her with a gallon of milk; baby may have brain damage, they don't know yet. Broken ribs, bite marks...

Mom is a 23 year old with 5 children including this one (she had another in jail while waiting for trial). Grandma has the kids now...

But you have to wonder...why does grandma have the children when by all accounts, Escalona's childhood/young(er) adulthood is the reason she's like she is? They recounted abuse, gang activity, drugs...how does grandma get the kids? Unless Escalona was raised by a dad, that is...

Anyway, tragic all around.
