Eric Holder "regrets" false letter to Congress, blames white people.

I'm confused. What is wrong with gunwalking now?

Ask the family members of the murder border agents.
BTW It's not a good thing when the government does something illegal to push it's anti gun agenda.

Suprise! People die and get killed all the time! But wait, INNOCENT PEOPLE DIED?! Stop the world!

No, seriously. What is wrong with gunwalking? Do you work in intranational security? Do you know anything about how this shit operates? Gunwalking is legit; works well - sometimes bad shit happens and people/friends die; but then we just kill them anyways so it goes without saying.

Gunwalking works. Not sure why Holder is being such a girl about it, should just go Rummy style and tell people to piss off.

The illegal sale of a firearm is not ok. The illegal sale of American firearms to drug smugglers is not legal and protected by the law. To allow those firearms to cross over into mexico to push an anti gun agenda is criminal

lol kid.

You are very, very naive on how nasty the world is.

If anti-gun legislation is the largest of your worries you got it good.

Junior when you make it to my age and have done the things I have done we can talk until then shut the fuck up and listen.

Playing the "Race Card" all day, every day.

"Prosecuting the Philadelphia NBPP for voting rights violations would be demeaning to my people" E Holder

"Eric Holder carries with him in his wallet at all times a card with an insription that reads "The black attorney has more in common with the black criminal than he does with the society he is charged to represent." J Christian Adams, former DOJ voting rights division attorney

Yes, the world can be nasty.

That doesn't make selling guns to drug cartels to push an anti gun agenda acceptable. The shocking thing about Fast & Furious isn't that some people got killed with those weapons...it's that ANYONE would be stupid enough to sign off on an operation like that in the first place.

Seriously, what were they thinking? Operation Gunrunner had already been scrapped because law enforcement couldn't keep track of "walked" weapons...and that was with the knowledge and cooperation of the Mexican government! So someone decides that we're going to try the same thing without involving the Mexican's? Who does that? Who can possibly be that stupid and why haven't there been wholesale firings over this in the Justice Department?

Strange that we haven't heard a peep from the liberoidals on this one.

And what other alternative is there?

Given manpower and resources, what can you really do? Hope to blindly walk on a transaction and just confiscate weaponry? Doesn't work. Orchestrate a massive bust? Short term victory, huge long term failure. Infiltrate tactical sales of weaponry and bust at smallest level? Money pit with little payoff. Gunwalking is a ridiculously cheap alternative to what was happening before - which was doing nothing and dealing with it on the back end.

Any two-bit fool who has any experience with gunwalking will tell you it is about as damaging a blow you can do to runners. Breeds a whole lot of insecurity and mistakes at even the runners level, and costs the supplier a lot more capital to continue his operations.

The shit works. Americans are fat and just mad because we don't have the force to have our cake and eat it too.

In what possible way do you consider gun walking to have "worked"?

We allowed hundreds of high powered weapons to be sold to violent drug cartels that our neighbor Mexico is in a life and death struggle with. Hundreds of innocent people are going to die because of this. All to push an anti gun agenda? That's such an unthinkably warped thing to do it boggles the mind.

As for what I would "do"? I'd arrest the runners. I sure as heck wouldn't make their lives easier by selling to them.

Welcome to USMB, fissionfusion. We hope you like our boards.

Most people simply apologize and accept responsibility when they make a huge mistake and attempt to move on. We are a Constitutional Republic and not a monarchy in which all the King's men push all the buttons. Attorney General Holder needs to review this precept and live within the boundaries of his job. He is not free to give guns to murderers in a foreign country that would result in the death of their own countrymen as well as our agents in the USA. Right now, his prospects for continuation in office look grim. If Obama doesn't have the cajones to keep his own bad boys in line, trust me, his loyal opposition will force him to live within the parameters of this Republic. We shouldn't have to impeach to teach the head of a department charged with fairness and justice a lesson his boss will never forget.

We know who is selling what and to who. Intelligence is more important than action when you have no intel on wtf is happening. We closed down big munitions factories selling legitimate CSW illegally. Runners are a fun bunch, they aren't good at hiding it and they talk - a lot. Don't misjudge incompetence by one retarded ATF agent who can't follow a straight line of chalk on the ground and attribute it to the entire operation.

Gunwalking has nothing to do with Holder, Bush nor Obama. Only an absolutely worthless cretin would try to draw those lines. ATF had to reevaluate it's practices and found that interdiction was way too worthless esp. with straw buying tactics. The wrong people were being targeted. You can target runners, and hell even weapons and munitions, but all those are easily replaceable. Traffickers and high level buyers however, are not easily replaced.

Oddly, the Examiner fails to cite the interview that it references (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/18/u...ml?_r=1&scp=1&sq=eric holder interview&st=cse), instead relying on secondary sources. Perhaps this is because reading the original interview demonstrates that the Examiner's claims are incorrect:

1. Holder does not say anything about white people in this interview.

2. Holder doesn't say that his critics dislike him because they are prejudiced against African Americans. He mentions that they may associate him more closely with Obama because both are African American.

3. Holder doesn't blame his critics or white people for his letter to Congress or any other action by his Justice Department.

Interestingly, Holder, while acknowledging that some criticism is legitimate, suggests that some internet commentators were “conflating things, conveniently leaving some stuff out, construing things to make it seem not quite what it was”. He could have been speaking of this very article.

You are so right. He did not say those things. He just implied them. ... I feel so much better now... I'm so relieved. :D

The entire operation was a cluster fuck from the get go, Fission. Operation Gunrunner...the program started under the Bush Administration, along with the Mexican authorities, to track illegal gun smuggling...was discontinued because they found that they could not track the guns. It was stopped because they couldn't make it work.

So why then was Fast & Furious authorized? If one couldn't track the guns WITH the full cooperation of the Mexican government then why would anyone have thought for a second that they could track them WITHOUT help from the Mexican government? The answer to that question is quite simple...the Holder Department of Justice, KNEW they couldn't track the guns. But that was never the purpose of Fast & Furious. The real purpose of that program was to use a flood of weapons from the US into Mexico as an excuse for tougher gun laws here IN the United States. And if some Mexicans got killed in the process? Oh, well...you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet.

This was never some "retarded" ATF agent screwing up. This was the people running the Department of Justice implementing a program that they knew would dump hundreds of high powered weapons into the hands of violent criminals just because they thought it would get them tougher gun control laws. What's sad is that the REASON we have a Justice Department is to stop the kind of behavior that the Holder DOJ engaged in.

'False Letter?" Gotta love that one. Holder is a lying piece of shit who got an untold amount of innocent people murdered. Brian Terry and his family deserve justice. Holder should be arrested in my opinion.
