November surprise: EPA planning major post-election anti-coal regulation | WashingtonExaminer.com

President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency has devoted an unprecedented number of bureaucrats to finalizing new anti-coal regulations that are set to be released at the end of November, according to a source inside the EPA.

More than 50 EPA staff are now crashing to finish greenhouse gas emission standards that would essentially ban all construction of new coal-fired power plants. Never before have so many EPA resources been devoted to a single regulation. The independent and non-partisan Manhattan Institute estimates that the EPA’s greenhouse gas coal regulation will cost the U.S. economy $700 billion.

The rush is a major sign of panic by environmentalists inside the Obama administration. If Obama wins, the EPA would have another four full years to implement their anti-fossil fuel agenda. But if Romney wins, regulators will have a very narrow window to enact a select few costly regulations that would then be very hard for a President Romney to undo.

Eliminate the EPA first, then start dismantling their programs. Just end EPA funding that should go a long way to ending this kind of tyranny.

After coal, you know they are going to start on natural gas, that's why they are already having skirmishes against fracking.

So I take it the EPA already has a viable replacement for Coal, or actions like this would be fucking insane... Unless they want to bankrupt American citizens that is.

There's no replacement, there doesn't need to be a replacement. The goal isn't to have an energy policy that benefits people, but an energy policy that pleases Gaia.

When the EPA had their war on fireplaces and BBQs everyone laughed. When the coal industry is shut down, the laws preventing people from getting heat from their own fireplaces have been in place for many years.

Invest in a warm coat, until the government mandates coat sharing with the poor.

Keep this stuff in mind, Americans living in Coal Country, when you go to the voting booth tomorrow! 4 more years of Obama means no more jobs for you!

Fracked gas is the future for electric power plants. It's cheaper to use and we have a decade of over supply.

who created the EPA and why did they create it?

You think the people currently running the EPA give a damn about the reason it was created? They are Marxist ideologues intent on destroying capitalism.
