It never fails. The global warming cult always crawls out of their hole at the cusp of every natural event. These people simply have no credibility and this is why the belief in man made climate change continues to erode.

Hours after a massive earthquake rattled Japan, environmental advocates connected the natural disaster to global warming. The president of the European Economic and Social Committee, Staffan Nilsson, issued a statement calling for solidarity in tackling the global warming problem.

“Some islands affected by climate change have been hit,” said Nilsson. “Has not the time come to demonstrate on solidarity – not least solidarity in combating and adapting to climate change and global warming?”

“Mother Nature has again given us a sign that that is what we need to do,” he added.

Global Warming enthusiasts have also taken to Twitter to raise awareness of the need to respond to the earthquake by finally acting on climate change. And the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Lee Doren compiled some of the best ones.

Of course it's global warming. It's not as if Japan is an earthquake prone nation that has been sitting atop a fault line for a million years or anything. :cuckoo:

Well of course they are.

AGW is also to blame for the NFL talks breaking down, and the removal of Charlie Sheen's kids.

They're fucking morons. AGW is not a science, it is their religion.

It happened because Japan has a concrete core and the fault was lined with thermite.... duh!!!!

Never heard of the guy. But here's the link to his statement:
The EESC president

He doesn't say global warming caused the earthquake; although he does say it's a sign that we need to show solidarity about the issue. Which is strange.

Global warming is not a cult. It's the majority, overwhelming preponderance of decades of research. Denial is the cult, and is about the most childish and intellectually bankrupt act that takes place on the political spectrum.

Is that the same majority that used to say we were heading for another Ice age?

The Global Warming Gods sure get angry a lot.

Perhaps we need to resume virgin sacrifices.

Something which only exists in the fevered imaginations of the very willfully ignorant.

Are you aware that there is more than one definition of cult?

5 a : great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad
b : the object of such devotion
c : a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion

Cult - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

Since cults can be based on ideas they can be based on the idea that anthropomorphic global warming is the single greatest danger we face today. The demonstrable fact that some people are blaming global warming for the earthquake proves that they are not basing their support of global warming on science. That makes your position that there is no cult surrounding it a denial of demonstrated facts. Your refusal to accept reality is one of the signs cult researchers look for when they look at groups to determine cult status.

Just something to think about.

Not to mention Time and many other magazines of the time.

No, it was the same cult minority of deniers that are still predicting global cooling today. And they are just as wrong today.
