It was reported in THE TIMES last Friday that cities and counties wanting to invest their pension funds may legitimately boycott companies which operate in the Occupied Territories. As the report put it, "The High Court has ruled that the government acted unlawfully in seeking to restrict 'ethical' boycotts of Israel." (page 15).

There are Tory politicians who are partial to keeping the Israelis happy. These friends of Israel can get into influential government positions and from there attempt to punish those who choose to allign local democracy to the Palestinian cause and the principles of law.
