Praying alone probably won't help, but you do have some time remaining to work on your karma. These are the five precepts you must abide by:

(1) Do not lie.
(2) Do not steal.
(3) Do not kill.
(4) Do not indulge in sexual misconduct.
(5) Do not consume intoxicants.

And if you wish to pray, this heartfelt prayer is beneficial:

"For all bad Karma created in the past,
Based upon beginningless greed, hatred and delusion,
And born of body, mouth and mind,
I now repent and reform."

Peace! (the "world" will not end, though.)
