Empathetic or not?

SCOTUS stated in the opinion to accept applicants solely on race is a violation of the equal protection clause....hopefully you can grasp that?

Nobody accepts applicants solely on race. Michigan surely didn't. Race was merely one of a variety of factors.

HBCUs are a source of accomplishment and great pride for the African American community as well as the entire nation. The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, defines an HBCU as: "...any historically black college or university that was established prior to 1964, whose principal mission was, and is, the education of black Americans, and that is accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or association determined by the Secretary [of Education] to be a reliable authority as to the quality of training offered or is, according to such an agency or association, making reasonable progress toward accreditation."

now how again did you disprove this?

Regardless of what their mission is THEY DON'T USE RACE AS A FACTOR IN ADMISSION.

You made a stupid comment and I proved it wrong....you took a couple of names out of the list and made a comment that falls way short of disproving, grasshopper...

Actually I did disprove it. You said they accepted people based predominantly on race. I picked the first 2 on your list, and showed that they didn't. In fact, they are trying to lure more white people to the college, so its quite obvious that they don't select based predominantly on race. If they were, why exactly would they be trying to lure more white students to the school?

But keep on claiming you are correct. Par for the course for your bullshit. No wonder you only got hired to do temp work. Even fortune 500 companies need their bitches to do the grunt work.

Grasshopper, if you disprove something you need to disprove every point of the argument, you will learn that later, hopefully in your paralegal program. So in fact you have disproved nothing, other than your ability to critically think.

Umm, no. Logic fail. Have fun temping, junior.

good grief. Are you a product of one of those colleges? Because if you are, and this is the way you "debate" I'd say they are a mess.

If that were the case, perhaps you could explain this study on (black) recruitment strategy?

"I said it so it's true."

It's like your Bob's twin.

Care to explain why exactly they would use race as a factor in admissions....while simultaneously trying to reach out to whites to get more to apply? Hmmm?

Yeah. Have fun with that.

Its recruitment from HBCU's, not to black individuals. Idiot.

Yeah. Have fun with that.

They're reaching out to "token whites" for the same reason biased colleges in the 60s - 80s reached out to "token" blacks. Their principle focus is STILL black students, and it is still easier for black students to get in than for white ones.

Which is WHY they're "reaching out". If they really are.

Really? Care to provide any evidence that its easier for black students to get in that white ones?

That's so intellectual for a future legal secretary.

I mean you can tell Morgan State definitely doesn't think race is important for admissions.
Morgan State University
Morgan attracts students from all fifty states and numerous foreign countries. About 35% of all students enrolled at Morgan are from outside the State of Maryland. It is one of the leading institutions nationally in the number of applications received from African-American high school graduates. The largest sources of its enrollments outside of Maryland are New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
