Electoral math says its nearly impossible for Romney to win - Obama has 92.2% chance

The oh so confident left is sure spending a lot of time and energy attempting to convince everyone that Romney doesn't stand a chance.:eusa_whistle:

He doesn't.

I knew he was done when Karl Rove pulled his superpac ads from Michigan and Pennsylvania.

With Romney doing everything he can to sabotage his campaign, this one was over before the conventions. Now it's just about getting in as many cheap jokes about Romney as possible before he becomes forgotten and irrelevant.

The best part is he is taking Lyin Ryan and the Republican party down with him.

I honestly don't get the Republicans. I would like a genuine second party in this country (hell, I'd say I'd like more than two legit parties in this country if I wasn't afraid of being labeled a socialist by people who don't understand what that word means) but the Republicans have gone out of their way to alienate every demographic and shockingly disrespect the vast majority of Americans in one way or another that I don't understand what they're trying to achieve. Now with this lame duck candidate who shows his incompetence in a hilarious fashion on a daily basis, the Republicans are doing damage to their party it's going to take at least a generation to recover from.

There are two parts to the Republican Party.

The billionaires who run it, and the religious right that they pander too in order to shift all the money to the 1% through tax cuts for the rich.

The billionaires choose Romney.

I don't pay attention to polls and think anyone who does is an idiot.

Seem to remember that Carter was ahead in the polls. I also remember Reagan won in a landslide. So much for polls.

Guess I'll wait till the day after the election to see who wins and which "poll" is correct.

No, it's just kicking shit in the faces of the right wing trash while they are down

I have repped you for this and you deserve it. It is fun to see the conservatives powerless to stop the inevitable regardless of what they do.

But as a liberal, I think it is helpful to examine what is going on here. Romney is an inferior candidate. It isn't because he's an inferior man. As Gramps used to say, "There are horses for courses" meaning that you may run one horse at Belmont but a different horse at Santa Anita depending on the length. The 1%er is ill suited to run in this environment; especially this 1%er who has a show horse in the Olympics, offshore bank accounts, refuses to share what he paid for 10 years in taxes.

Setting THAT aside, naturally the question becomes, "Who would have beat Obama." It is unlikely none of the GOP candidates from this Spring would have fared better outside of Huntsman. The problem the GOP has is that to appease the primary voters, you have to either be or steer hard right. Then in the general election, whomever is saddled with the GOP nomination has to spend 100% of the time steering toward the center. It's a gauntlet that few are going to be able to run going forward.

Also as liberals I don't think we should take this as a rejection of the Conservative movement; it's been a rejection of the Governor. It is a rejection of a brand of conservatism that says "I've got mine; you get yours" however. And, for the Democrats, that is the real prize because that is the direction the GOP is moving--they "got theirs, now you get yours."

I'm interested in seeing what the black vote will be, particularly the black Christian vote, especially after Obama flip-flopped and decided to support gay marriage. Many may just stay home in November.

The Myth of Jimmy Carter's "Eight-Point Lead" Over Reagan

ok, keep telling yourselves that:lol:

I don't have to "tell" myself anything. Facts are in evidence. Of course, you've never let facts stop you. Why would you now?

Its the low information voters Reagan tapped into to win his election.

Now this faction of the party has taken it over.

They will distroy the republican party unless the moderates can wrench it back from them.

A name is a name and names of parties change.

There may be no future for the republican name.

I sure hope a second party to replace them comes along soon as the dems will be the bought party soon becuase there is no strong second party to keep them from being bought by the same people who have bought and distroyed the republican party.

oh I don't know, probably because I LIVED through it..but hey if Slate says it's true than it MUST BE...lol

So you recall that the polls going into the Election were very close and that the thing that put old St. Ronald "over the top" was his debate performance? You remember that?

Do you think Willard RawMoney can come close to St. Ronnie's charisma and personality? Do you think President Obama will perform as poorly as Jimmy Carter did?
