Electoral Map agrees almost to the EV

"….the truth is, there can be no civil discussion, no “honest exchange of ideas,” with Leftists. It’s useless to try — in fact, it’s actually counterproductive, and even dangerous. You can’t have an honest exchange of ideas with people who are fundamentally dishonest, who try to hide their intentions and their agenda behind a smokescreen of lies. And if you think that isn’t what they’re up to, you need to go back and reread their playbooks — Alinsky, Gramsci, and Cloward-Piven, among others — again."

-Mike Hendrix

“In fact, leftism has failed utterly. It has failed everywhere and it has never done anything else but fail. From the murderous, leftist tyrannies of the Soviet Union and China to the soft but nonetheless oppressive and stagnant socialism of a moribund Europe, the relativist, wealth-crushing, overweening state has revealed itself to be an engine of misery and collapse.”

-Andrew Klaven

“After the Soviet collapse, Marxism is a relic, a pathetic anachronism reduced to its last redoubts: North Korea, Cuba, and the English departments of the more expensive American universities.”

-Charles Krauthammer

"...the worst advertisement for Socialism is its adherents."

-George Orwell

"They [socialists] always run out of other people's money. It's quite a characteristic of them."

-Margaret Thatcher

“Because according to the fascist morons of the Left, the only way to end “hate” is….mindless, blind, vicious hatred of anyone who doesn’t think like they do, which is both their stock in trade and their raison d’etre.”

-Mike Hendrix

"If you're not Liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're 35, you have no brain."

-Common Sense

"When you are content to be simply yourself and don't compare or compete, everybody will respect you."

–Lao-Tzu

"Repetition does not transform a lie into a truth."

–Franklin Roosevelt (ha ha, fooled ya)

"It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world."

–George Washington

"George Washington is the only president who didn't blame the previous administration for his troubles."

–Author Unknown

"I am not a liberal, not a conservative, not a gradualist, not a monk, not an indifferentist, . . . I have no partiality either for gendarmes, or butchers, or scholars, or writers, or young people. I regard trade-marks and labels as a kind of prejudice. My holy of holies is the human body, health, intelligence, talent, inspiration, love, and absolute freedom - freedom from violence and falsehood, no matter how the last two manifest themselves."

-Anton Chekhov

NBC poll:

President Bush and Sen. John Kerry are running neck and neck exactly two weeks until Election Day.

WASHINGTON — After two blockbuster party conventions, three widely watched presidential debates, and hundreds of millions of dollars spent in advertising, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that President Bush and Sen. John Kerry are running neck and neck exactly two weeks until Election Day.

the nation has been fairly evenly split for some time - except 2008.

there is no compelling reason for the Obama Administration to be voted out of office - the public just likes to make elections interesting ....

And the NIGHT of the election Exit Polls had Kerry winning...next...

Just two weeks ago, RCP was royalty. What happened?

The leftwingnuts have switched to 538 because RCP has Barry down big time... (even though RCP is just an average of all the polls)

Eventually, Nate will have to come to reality or be laughed at when it's all over and Barry is sent packing...

I have never promoted RCP. The best that I have seen is fivethirtyeight.com

I guess you need to make your point by using degrading names.....kinda sad.

RCP is the odd ball?
How stupid can you be? RCP is an average of many polls, possibly even 538.

i think he's saying that gallup seems to be skewing the RCP average.

OK and 538 is skewing it in the other direction. RCP, by definition can't be the "oddball"

fivethirtyeight doesn't skew things.

again... i think he was pointing out that the RCP isn't reflecting what other polls are because of gallup.

that said, i don't discount the RCP average, i rely on it most of the time and still reference it. i just question it because of the weird gallup numbers and think that it's confusing the realty... someone is very wrong. and can it be everyone BUT gallup that's wrong? i don't know. truly.

Odd... You don't mention the weird IBD/TIPP poll that has Barry +6 which is also part of the RCP average...

Here's the problem with Realclear:

1. RC considers a state where a candidate is leading by 5 points, in the state poll average, to be a toss up.

2. Polls are meant to show what would happen if the election were held today.

3. A state where a candidate is leading by 5 points in the average, if the election were held today, is going to win that state 99% of the time. It is not, therefore, a toss up by any measure.

I'd say that 2 or 3 points is the max lead that should be considered a toss up state.

it hadn't come up...

i don't think anyone believes either of them is 6 or 7 points up or down nationally. fair point.

There are Millions of evangelical's who do not vote. There are Million more who do vote occasionally.
I suspect a huge evangelical turnout this election.
It's lights out for Obama. Mitt Romney will will be our next President.

I agree.. I think it's closer to Romney +4 nationally right now... Close, but not as close as the media is making it...

The media needs a squeaky close election... It increases ad buys in tossup states and keeps people tuning in...
