Election 2010

Reid is also trailing in Nevada.

That I wouldn't mind. Pelosi is the one that's got to go, however. At least voted out of her speaker position. And believe it or not, I'm hoping for a better balance in both chambers. I'm sick of this My Club vs. Your Club bullshit.

Maggie, I'd much rather it be completely gridlocked. This economy needs some R&R. What it soes not need is more well intentioned but completely useless charity by a government that has nothing to give in the first place other than the fruits of some one else's labor which means that someone won't be hiring any one else this year.

Y'all don't know Bobby J., for sure. He is a populist Republican, and he will make the large corporations anti up. Can't have that.

Do you freaks forget that Progressivism in power nationally began with Roosevelt: Theodore Roosevelt?

By mid 2010 the effects of the stimulus package - which was designed to begin paying out in late 2009 and early 2010 - will be apparent. The recession will be over and job growth will be increasing.

The health care debate will be long over.

And Congress will be investigating the Bush administration on the shameful manipulation of intelligence leading up to the Iraq war, the rendition and torture programs, the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame, and the firing of US attorneys on the instructions of Karl Rove.

The GOP is defending more Senate seats than the Democrats in 2010, making it harder for the Rs to gain.

The most likely outcome is that the Rs pick up a few seats in the House.

That will be that.

But hey, keep pinning your hopes on polls and rhetoric instead of looking at facts...

So how does gridlock solve that? Nothing in government would be reduced, as Republicans want, and Congress sure as hell isn't going to let go of existing pet projects. The only way that could be done would be an EO by the president for an across the board 20% cut (an arbitrary figure), which would mean massive layoffs of government employees simply adding to high unemployment. Where would future unemployment funding come from for those people? The states who are already going broke because of it? And that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Because when they are gridlocked they can't do nearly as much damage. Bills go from the house to the senate and die in committee, or get talked to death and that genrally includes all the pork attached to them.

With cap and trade and Obama care the only thing that will be growig are the unemployment lines.

I've noticed that cap and trade has been tossed into the mix lately as being the avenue for paying for health care reform. The argument (allegation?) is that the taxes imagined in order for utilities to keep going by cap and trade requirements will sneak through the back door to pay for the health care reform bill. A double whammy for taxpayers.

THINK!!! First off, the climate bill (where cap and trade is found) has not even been debated yet in the Senate. Second, even if they get around to it, you can bet that it will be DOA because no one wants another controversial bill on the table in an election year. Third, cap and trade is hugely unpopular in the midwest and south, where the majority of the factories which would be affected are, and the Democrats won't chance losing seats they have picked up in those states.

So enough already, cap and trade ain't gonna happen, so you folks will just have to find some other lame justification for dismissing health care reform.

So we just pay these guys, INSURANCE PREMIUMS INCLUDED with the rest of their sweet employment packages, just to sit on their asses? Yeah, great idea. No thanks.

I'm also so very tired of hearing people complain about "pork." Not all earmarks are "pork." Pork is what elected members of the House DO. They are supposed to represent the interests of their own constituents. Earmarks, even when they were at their highest in 2003-2006, still only represented 2% of the annual budget. AND finally, if you care to take the time, you can now track all earmarks --

Taxpayers for Common Sense

Then raise hell as appropriate.

Yes Americans can take their country back. Lets just hope the Republicans offer up some real Conservatives this time around. No more frauds like George Bush,John McCain,Arlin Spector, and so on and so on...It can happen but the Republicans need to start listening to Dr. Ron Paul a bit more. Most Americans do not want this intrusive Socialist agenda so the Republicans really could make some big gains if they just get back to true Conservative beliefs. Get rid of all the phonies and they might just take this country back.

By all means Republicans......get in bed with Ron Paul
A man who has never actually accomplished anything in Congress. A man who believes in New World Order, NAFTA Superhighway and is a god to conspiracy theorists

Remember America,Neo-Conservatives are NOT real Conservatives. The Republicans must first purge the party of all phony Conservatives and replace them with real Conservatives. In fact Neo-Cons are no better than these Socialists who are currently in power. They're the the same entity in the end. Yes the Republicans can take this country back but real Conservatives need to take the Republican Party back first.

Ron Paul has neve accomplished anything in his political career.
He is a nice old man and seems to be very polite and appears to bathe daily. Doesn't mean he should run the country

Well i would have to strongly disagree there. He has certainly done more than the failed "Community Organizer" Socialist currently running our country. It also depends on what your definition of "accomplishment" is. Hmm?

Ron Paul is a Libertarian in a Republican's clothing. He couldn't even get passed the prelims last year. How would you expect him to fare running against a more middle of the isle Republican?

Has he ever served as "Leader of the Free World"????

Can you name the major legislations proposed and passed by Ron Paul while he served in Congress??
