El Rushbo Tells Caller if they Couldn’t Afford $6,000 They Shouldn’t Have Broken Thei

Yes. And the corrupt MSM is now deliberately misleading people into thinking their premiums will go down. According to the CBO report, they are expected to go up.

MSNBC's Norah O'Donnell gave a stark answer to that question this morning, when she appeared on "Morning Joe" to discuss yesterday's health care summit. O'Donnell heaped praise on the President for being "in command of some of the facts", like the "fact" that premiums would decline 10-13 percent under his plan. If she had actually looked at the CBO report she was citing, however, she would know that the plan is expected to raise, not lower, premiums for individuals by 10-13 percent.

Krugman wrote a piece Friday accusing Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) of lying at Thursday's healthcare summit about premiums going up if the Democrats' plan is enacted.

During the Roundtable segment of Sunday's "This Week," Will pointed out, "You said in the next sentence in your column, "I guess you could say he wasn't technically lying because the Congressional Budget Office says that's true."

Krugman responded by explaining that even though "the average payments go up," many people will receive better coverage.

One solution to the problem of poor people not having enough money to live in our society would be to make it a requirement to be sterilized in order to qualify for help. Poor families that have 6 kids, 10 kids, whatever, are too irresponsible to be parents, if they want help from society, they need to do their part and stop bringing more mouths to feed onto this planet........ they should have birth control implanted in their bodies.

These people that live off of society should also forfeit their right to vote as long as the government (society) is paying for them to live on this planet...... no more promises from Democrats of a free ride for their vote........ yea, that's going to happen. The fact is, that would only be fair....... those that don't contribute to society don't get to vote(no IRS record, no vote).

That would never happen But it would be reasonable to disallow luxuries like cable TV and dope for people who can't seem to get their ass off the couch. But our govt has decided that TV is now a right or something.

The problem is that people look for jobs they want instead of the jobs the market demands.
I am opening my third business. A delivery, courier service for the elderly at assisted living facilities in this area.
And,like my other twobusinesses, it is hard to find workers.
"How many days do I get paid vacation. What are my benefits? Can I carry all of my family on the health insurance?", etc, etc, etc.
I pay contract labor. YOU are responsible for your own health care, NOT ME.
I can not stand Rush Limbaugh. I believe he is an excellent entertainer and speaker but he is a hypocrit first degree. However, he is partially right.
The "You can be what you want to be" American mentality is a joke. "What is your passion" is a myth.
The market has jobs. I have a Hispanic neighbor that lives in a 450K home. He is a landscaper, hurting some now, but he started with ZERO. Same with another neighbor who is Indian and an IT specialist. Same with the Korean family that owns a dry cleaners.
Americans have become fat and lazy and dependent on others to do for them.
No cry babies.

If this bill was truly just about fixing the problems in healthcare, I think that it would receive bipartisan support and most Americans would be pleased to see it happen. In fact, it does not. Personally, I find it offensive that Obama et al is using the problems in our health care system to try to bamboozle Americans into handing over yet more control to a bunch of corrupt assholes who have already been shown to be untrustworthy.

no. it wouldn't receive bi-partisan support... because the repubs have decided this is somehow supposed to be the president's 'waterloo'.

you don't take them at their word?

I agree with Rush...poor people shouldn't get sick or get injured. If they can't afford it, don't do it. Simple.

bodecea is correct

Our hospitals are reserved for the rich. If we start admitting too many poor people the wealthy may be inconvenienced

I do take them at their word and believe you have seen ME post such opinions in other threads. The kid on the phone with rush was something different, and IMHO should be prepared to take more responsibility for himself. Accidents happen, we all have to deal with that. It was almost like he expected free treatment for his accident, but that won't happen no matter what insurance one has. Unless one scams the Er, one has to pay for care in some way for an accident.
What you are saying though is something different. I happen to strongly agree that the partisan politics are not serving our country well. I think you are right, at this point the republicans simply want to hurt Obama politically, and that is not serving the people.
I do not see the current bill that is being discussed as improving health care, or insurance. i find it disturbing that our so-called leaders choose to engage in partisan bickering instead of working towards common goals that have been stated on both sides. There is plenty these clowns COULD do to reign in insurance costs, but they choose to bicker instead.
Insurance fraud has been documented to be institutionalized, that could be fixed.

Insurance companies run roughshod over their customers, ie: pre-existing conditions, denying coverage when one gets sick, ect; this could be changed.

There is some small degree of merit to tort reform, no matter how small, this could be changed to bring the cost of doctor's liability insurance down, and would serve to limit the amount of 'defensive medicine' that is practiced.

I know that insurance companies need to make a profit, and their executives need to be fairly compensated, but it looks to me like there is some degree of cost savings to be had in this regard as well.

Just these things I mentioned have been stated to be issues from both the republicans and the democrats, yet instead of working to solve these things, that both sides have stated they see as problems, they instead choose to argue and bicker and play political 'chicken'. IMHO, that is not serving the people - the job we hired them to do.
Even without continuing to try to pass the existing bill, these items, that both sides agree are problems, could be addressed. Yet the games continue. The democrats want their bill, despite public disapproval, and only seem to want to push that through.
The republicans have 'fundamental differences' with that bill, as it seems most of the public does as well. In response, they seem more interested in working to make that fail, and postition the republican party in the coming elections.
If we had real leaders, instead of this current crop of pretenders, we would see real efforts towards insurance reform. We don't have real leaders, so all we continue to see is posturing and bickering from both sides.

In an imperfect world (y'know, the one we live in) a lot of people plan a little leeway for such unexpected events.

Why should those who don't look ahead as such be rewarded for their failure to do so?

Some people don't have the luxary of looking ahead, some people don't have any extra income.
Life's tough...Shit happens...Wear a helmet.

I agree. In fact, I recommend that be our new Nation's Motto.
