Egypt- Morsi grants himself 'far-reaching' powers

obama will continue to support Morsi because it is in obama's best interests to have a muslim brotherhood dictatorship in Egypt (and in the US too, but that's another subject). obama has again chosen the wrong horse to back, just like he supported Zeyala when the Honduran court threw him out.

But the arab people viewed it as a way to get rid of the western puppet dictators.

Gaddafi was hardly a Western puppet.
In the last few years he had abandoned his rhetoric and accepted all of the West's demands.

Gaddafi handed over his WMDs and made a few other concessions. That still hardly makes him a Western puppet. He still made the usual anti-american rants that Middle Eastern despots love to make.

Gaddafi had been effectively neutered and was basically controlled by the White House.

It seems that Morsi and the Muslim brotherhood were ill prepared to effectively lead a country without derision, insatiability and bloodshed. These guys simply do not know what they are doing.

"Rather than reach out to secular and liberal voices, Morsi and the world's most influential Islamist organization have often resorted to the rigid structure that helped the Brotherhood survive decades as a persecuted opposition movement. Though they have been overwhelmed by circumstances, their ability to lead the country has been further compromised by an authoritarian streak.

Angry protests that drew tens of thousands of people into Cairo's Tahrir Square on Tuesday reveal that Egyptians no longer will accept an autocratic leader, whether an Islamist like Morsi or a secularist like Mubarak. A dispute with judges over separation of government powers has rallied liberals and non-Muslims who fear that Morsi aims to gradually expand Islamic law to alter the nation's character and limit civil and religious freedom."

Morsi may have misjudged Egypt's tolerance of authoritarianism - latimes.com

Islamo Fascism has its cost. So what's left, a parliamentary system? Once you cross the street there is no coming back, they will not release power without a fight.

I agree and the military has yet to make any moves. I think they are adopting a wait and see attitude and will react to the situation as it takes a more form.

In a country of 84 million people.

These few thousand malcontent rabble-rousing protesters are just a tiny minority.

But the zionist controlled western media is championing their cause and egging them on.

Most likely, the protesters have been organized by the CIA and Mossad agents.

Because both the U.S. and Israel wants to take down the Muslim Brotherhood .

"More than 200,000 people packed Cairo's central Tahrir square on Tuesday, chanting against Egypt's Islamist president in a powerful show of strength by the opposition, demanding Mohammed Morsi revoke edicts granting himself near autocratic powers." Two people have died so far....

yes he was, and he was more of a threat to the tribes in Libya he didn't favor in a land that had tribal warfare as an ongoing exchange since Scipio bribed Massinissa to desert Hannibal and helped win the second Punic war for Rome. There was no point in the Libyan venture, Syria matters more than all the oil and sand in Libya, it was a stupid side show.
