This was rich. Really.
Do the wealthiest Americans have a "moral" obligation to pay higher taxes?

California Governor Jerry Brown thinks so. Under Prop 30, the two-time Democratic Governor is calling for a 3% tax hike on the state's richest 1% to help pay for the cash-strapped state's education system.

"It takes a refined theory to say to billionaires that it's easier to take three weeks of school away from kids in Los Angeles than it is to take 3% away from people who make hundreds of millions of dollars a year," said Brown in an interview with The Financial Times.

So this is a tax on billionaires, right?

Wrong.

Same article:
Prop 30 calls for a sales tax increase and staggered tax increases over seven years for individuals making $250,000 and families earning $500,000 or more.

Got it? Billionaires are people earning 250k and more. And in California, with its high housing prices, 250k doesn't go that far.

Fuck Jerry Brown and his lying dishonest demagoging. Fuck California for electing "Moonbeams" yet again. They had the chance to turn out their shitty politicians in 2010 and they choked.

Geeeze, Ca. is getting funding for the high speed rail....what's all the beef about?.....they get the high speed rail

They could bring in way more by just dealing with the illegals that attend schools.

Having learned nothing from the exodus of business and individuals leaving the state due to excessive taxation and regulation, California again punishes the successful and also defines insanity: Doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results.

CA is beating its dog, then wondering why its dog runs away.

Someone must pay for the illegals and blacks living in the ghettos of California.....

This is funny. They say they're raising taxes on the rich. The rich leave which causes even less revenue coming in. So, they will say they are going to raise taxes on everyone which will drive even more to leave the state and the poorest, who have no way of leaving will be stuck paying the bill.

Why is California taxing the poor?

By the way, I'm using lefties logic here.

How stupid can you get?

the bolded represents the annual salary. Not total savings.

Quit twisting stories and gtfo.

But, but, but...he's building a train. That will solve everything!!!

only a fucking libtard would be exicted about a high speed train.....isnt it from Bakersfield to Fresno....OMG in the middle of nowhere....

It's just mindbogglingly stupid. The state is in horrible debt with cities defaulting left and right. Californians are already near the most tax citizens of any state (depends how you calculate it, but CA always ends up in the top 5 most taxed states). The rich are leaving in droves while policies are put into place to attract illegal aliens and welfare recipients.

The solution?

Take more money out of the economy, from the most productive citizens. Run it through corrupt and inefficient government bureaucracies, then spend the rest on a train nobody needs between two towns nobody travels to...and call it "stimulus".

Brilliant, just brilliant...:cuckoo:

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money to spend." - Margaret Thatcher.

California is rapidly becoming a Third World wasteland. And you can thank the Socialists/Progressives for that. What a mess.

It is a Socialist state that has over extened itself. Once the economy turns around it will do it again. Trust me, a born Calif. who bolted.
