I have a real job myself, thanks. I didn't get out of the Marines because I liked it, not because I gave a damn about someone else supporting me.

I don't get free money, nor do I get free medical. You might want to try that again. I more than earned the pittance the US government gives me as retainer (not retire) pay AND I have to pay taxes on THAT. No different than you retiring and getting a check from a private corporation.

Or perhaps you think I shouldn't get one but you should?

And medical hasn't been free since the 80s. I don't pay what you do, but then you know what kind of medical care I get too, so that's a wash as well.

Not really, you get a $1000 credit if you're married, but there's no cut in rates, which makes this a temporary deal most likely. Plus, don't forget what Clinton did with the middle class tax cut he promised.

But I do like O's plan to restore the 1990s top tax rates. Economy boomed then, and 39.6% is hardly an economy crushing, Jimmy Carter-like 70%.

I can't do economics 101 for you but, a strong dollar lowers gas prices and keeps more money in your pocket. Isn't that what you want? Also, a lower deficit means less interest payments on the debt going to China. Doesn't that warm your patriotic heart?
