"Earth Day"- Draggin' Us Down!

Ever wonder why Earth Day is on 22 April??

Simple.

Vladimir Lenin was born on 22 April 1870

The Marxist /Socialist picked that day to honor their hero Lenin's birthday. :doubt:

Ohh I thought it was to celebrate the crucifixation (intentional misspelling) of Christ?

I always thought it strange to celebrate the painful cruel death of someone.

Ecology minded people are by definition conservatives.
What is more important to conserve than our planet?

Strance how political conservatives seem to lean more towards the use up and discard types.

the bible also says to be good stewards of our land.

Hard to believe, but this nonsense is ‘celebrating’ its 41st birthday. Those of us with any sense have largely ignored it because we mistakenly believed that only children would take it seriously…we didn’t believe that any sentient adult would!

But….good intentions are a powerful driver, and the Left buys this stuff like it was on sale!

1. Each year, Earth Day -- April 22 -- marks the anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. 2. We are about to witness a worldwide pagan rite – the worship of the earth, the worship of Gaia, (Earth Mother). Earth Day is the worship of nature — rather than Nature’s God.

Though touted as, somehow, NEW, worship of the earth is likely the oldest religion on earth. Born of child-like ignorance, it has survived centuries and is, once again, robust and thriving among those people of earth who have lost their way and have reclaimed this form of paganism …” Earth Day, The High Holy Day of Paganism | The Silent Majority Earth Day, The High Holy Day of Paganism | The Silent Majority

3. Michael Crichton, in his “Environmentalism as Religion” remarks, made before the Commonwealth Club, in San Francisco in 2003, summed it all up.
“The believers in environmentalism believe and preach that we should live in unity with nature, or the environment. They believe that in the beginning we did. They believe that we are now living in sin because we have polluted the earth. We will be visited with a judgment day and the judgment will be death, for the whole planet, unless we repent, (which means to turn around and go the other way) and make our way back to sustainability. You see, in the environmentalism religion, sustainability IS salvation.”” … Michael Crichton

4. On the excellent webcast Uncommon Knowledge, Czech president Václav Klaus recently compared “two ideologies” that were “structurally very similar. They are against individual freedom. They are in favor of centralistic masterminding of our fates. They are both very similar in telling us what to do, how to live, how to behave, what to eat, how to travel, what we can do and what we cannot do.” The first of Klaus’s “two ideologies” was Communism—a system with which he was deeply familiar, having participated in the Velvet Revolution in 1989. The second was environmentalism.

5. It is no accident that April 22, Earth Day, is also the birth date of Vladimir Lenin, an acolyte of Karl Marx, the lunatic who invented communism as an alternative to capitalism. Earth Day is naked communism. To begin, it substitutes a worship of the Earth, Gaia, for the worship of God, creator of the universe and the instructor of moral behavior for mankind. The Earth does not demand a moral code of personal behavior. While America was established to ensure “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”, environmentalism exists to exert more and more control over our lives by limiting our choices, our liberty.

Yep but just as with freedom eternal vigilance is required.

Oh my goodness!

Some people set aside a day to remember that we share the planet and need to take care of it.

The horror!

Let's see...what did this tree hugging, liberal, commie, collectivist do for Earth Day?

Uhm..had a pizza?

Yeah yeah, that's it.

I had my (newly invented traditional) Earth Day pizza feast.

1) You give the date of the birth of the modern environmental movement. What hippies have to do with it? I don't get it. I know alot of conservatives who recycle.
2) A world wide Pagan rite. Surely one who believes in the constitution would stand behind the principals of freedom of religion. Right?
3) Michael Crichton? Isn't he a fiction writer, who makes his living off of making shit up?
4) I'll help you out on this one. The difference between communism and environmentalism is one takes everything from you and forces you you live a certain way or they kill / imprision you (communism). The other askes you to keep the environment in mind before you throw your garbage into the woods.
5) Really? they purposely picked that date because it was Lennins birthday? You can't possibly believe that can you? I've read alot of your posts and you seem smarter than that.
6) Rights for mother earth? why not? our companies and corporations in the US have more rights than the everyday citizen.
7) Again doesn't this fall under the freedom of religion? Staunch supporters of the constitution would agree and defend the rights of others to worship as see fit.
8) I was always under the impression that here in the US we were able to vote our conscious. Am I wrong?
9) This shows us that democracy is alive and well in the US, because there is an opposite view point that is being voiced.

Vigorous debate is the definition of liberty-loving America. Not the outright silencing of those we happen to disagree with.

1. John Michael Crichton (rhymes with frighten;[2] October 23, 1942 – November 4, 2008), best known as Michael Crichton, was an American author, producer, director, and screenwriter, best known for his work in the science fiction, medical fiction, and thriller genres. His books have sold over 150 million copies worldwide, and many have been adapted into films. In 1994, Crichton became the only creative artist ever to have works simultaneously charting at #1 in television, film, and book sales (with ER, Jurassic Park, and Disclosure, respectively).[3]

I think I would be better served by checking out a book of facts instead of fiction if I wanted to get more informed, wouldn't you agree?
