Dust in the wind.

Conservative propaganda worthy of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other uneducated dolts trying to vilianize those who pursue higher education

Wouldn't be quite as bad if an education was the only result of their time spent in school. Unfortunately the liberal-biased academic system is more interested in turning out political tools, than it is creating educated people.

The qualities of critical thinking and self-reliance are sadly two things which the educational system seems to take great pleasure in expunging from the impressionable mind. Trust me, I spent 15 years working in a support role in an academic environment. I've seen more than my share of book-smart graduates with brains full of mush, than I care to think about.
That is very untrue since most of the time the kids are spending is for curriculum that is required and politics is not one of them..

Untrue. One of the insidious goals of the educational system is to connive the young student into "un-learning" what he or she already knows. Once that is accomplished, the mind is an empty vessel, waiting to be filled with false notions of who they are and what they should believe. It's really devious, if you take the time to stop and look at it.
I could go by John Brown University in Siloam Springs? But that is a boring business college where they indoctrinate people to be wage slaves and work for capitalist.

Ever given a job by a communist? I mean a real job, not walking around holding a protest sign for free. Apparently, I'm the first person to tell you this: It's those evil "capitalists" who own the companies who give people work in exchange for money.

You have never been within ten miles of a real college
I taught microeconomics in 4 colleges of the City University of New York for 3 years.
Did you use micro-textbooks?

No, they study the use and history of tiny coins.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Don’t overdo it. Critical thinking is still valued and taught.

You won't see it in this forum..

I knew in a tiny way you'd go there...

Consistency is a good thing.
Eh, it's over rated..

Liberal arts colleges are increasingly conscripting and producing useful idiots to go after older Americans like you and I; particularly older white Americans. Why? That’s easy. You and your predecessors killed the Indians, stole land from the Mexicans, enslaved the blacks and nuked the Japanese. According to them anyway; we are all guilty of being “bad” white people.

What an interesting take on things. I am also retired, mid-60s. I am a college student at a university in our smallish city, seeking a BS degree. Oddly, I have not seen a shred of evidence of what you claim. My major is Native American Studies; my minor is anthropology. You would think if what you claim is true, after 3.5 semesters I would have noticed it, eh? BTW, my career was spent as a health care professional; that education also did not "conscript" me.

What you really fear is that as people become more educated, they become less susceptible to the Goering-like chanting and nationalistic spew of fascists. They become more capable of critical thinking and questioning authority. They are exposed to a diverse group of other students -- and adults -- from different backgrounds. They discover that their parents' prejudices, racism, and bigotry have no basis in reality because people at heart are not much different from each other. For example, one fellow student is a 19-yo (white) woman from TX, child of evangelical Trump supporters who loathe anyone who is not Xtian and white like themselves. Two semesters opened her eyes.

That's what you really fear.

I do recall a history class in 1980 when a teacher in college ask what would happen if the president refused to relinquish his hold on the presidency?

The last thing democrats want is questioning of authority or diversity of thought and opinion. History bears this out, and the current attitude and behavior of leftists confirms it.

I’ve spent most of my life working 50-60 hours a week to keep my head above water. I guess I should have paid closer attention to the perverse aristocracy that’s been running our country and selling us out but I didn’t. Since I’ve retired the most chilling observation I’ve made is that the human brain is apparently losing its ability to reason.

The more people get educated these days the less able they are to make sense of the world and understand the lessons of history. Colleges and universities are quickly becoming breeding grounds for the balkanization that plagued Europe for centuries and their administrations seem more interested in appointing female presidents with lesbian partners than with training students to be useful citizens.

They of course are the “good” white people collecting college tuitions to whip up the passions of the youth with indoctrinated “white guilt” in order to rid society of the old ways that refuse to do business with their educational goldmine of political correctness.

You and I have to understand that the intelligentsia in the US is feeding itself by peddling hate to our children and grandchildren and we are the targets of that hate. After all we have all the money-it doesn’t matter that we earned it with our sweat-we had “white privilege” and that puts the bullseye on us. We are the new Jews and liberal arts education is the contemporary final solution.

Caitlin Marriot yelling obscenities at Donald Trump who is a symbol of aging America notwithstanding, new armies are marching through Mexico right now. You can almost hear them coming like Stephen King’s langoliers.

Don’t look back; creeping socialism is right behind you. Everything you learned about evil in this world was true and it’s coming for you fresh off college campuses. If you shed any tears, shed them not for yourself but for future generations that will endure the hell that is coming.

The educators, the politicians and planners are collecting their gold and we old white people will soon be dust in the wind.

Good post--but to be honest, I think about 18 or so months behind the times.

Because to be honest I think all this PC stuff is on the wane, I really do. I think it's dying the culture.
