Dubbyuh and Gawwud

Stop repeating the mantra of the 'right', and think for yourself. You sound like a new recruit about to drink the purple kool-aid.

By the end of the 1990s, however, oil-producing governments were mired in political crises, due to corruption, wars, and civil unrest. In Venezuela, Iraq, Algeria, Iran, and other producer countries, the US government appeared to be involved in destabilization measures, deepening existing social instability and what some scholars call “the crisis of the rentier state."

I never said he was a nice guy. But there are alot of big bad guys out there that America does nothing about. Going after Saddam and turning your backs on others is very hypocretical.

Then don't say America invaded Iraq to protect herself whne it is about oil, that is intellectual dishonesty.

Between 70-80 cents per litre. Well, thats here in Winnipeg.

The big ineffeicent ones are hurting, but we have a lot of discount airlines that are doing alright.

The same as your extremist white assholes do there. So how are you doing sitarro? I don't think we have been fully introduced.

Have you ever seen their Musical Ride, pretty impressive. If i was a terrorist, i'd be scared.

Check out the link above.

My country has it's shit together. We are not under any real, or psuedo-threat for imaginary bad guys. Our biggest threat is from the "White, middle-class right" that keeps trying to import it's views upon us. Maybe racial profiling will work, it will at least cut down on the gun related crime in our country.

You know what? Whatever. To borrow from Lileks, If you wanna keep thinking that UN forces armed with nothing but stern looks and shrill whistles will bring all the worlds terrorists cowering in the ports of Belgium, go right ahead.

Canada is not the terrorists prime target for the same reason as Europe. It may be heart-wrenching, but the reason is that those two places don't matter half as much on the global scale as America.

Maybe it's better for you to stay woefully ignorant, lest you be accused of anti-socialist Thoughtcrime. Anyone who supports his country banning certain books and then goes on to say the dark night of police-state theocracy is about to descend on America because of things like the patriot act, I have very little use for.

Well you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. The facts, facts we say, belie your position on oil, there is no proof to back that up, it is all leftist attack, and in global politics as in life one must choose one's battles which is exactly what America does.

So you're Canadian, eh? How do you like sleeping under the blanket of security that America provides? Without us somebody would've invaded and whipped your sorry asses long ago because you are weak militarily. So be kind and show us a debt of gratitude.

Hey Marbles for balls,
One question , if the conflict in Iraq is all about oil , why wouldn't the United States have just embraced Saddam the way France , Germany and Russia did and worked deals for the oil ? After all , when it comes to the technology of getting oil out of the ground and refining it , nobody comes close to the oil industry of the United States . Instead of spending billions to help free the people of Iraq , we could have taken advantage of them and used them for cheap labor and Halliburton could have made billions working with Saddam in a secure environment .
Why don't you ask those egghead psuedo intellectuals that question for me, they won't take my calls.

Justified...?! On what basis? It was a war of aggression, pure and simple. As such, it was in violation of international law. But then, Dubbyuh doesn't much care about international law save where it advances the profits of his corpoartate pimps and johns.

the only reason it is a "violation" of international law is this:

france, german, russia china and kofi all knew if they supported the US in upholding the 13 UN resolutions they all voted to uphold, the world would discover that....france, germany, russia, china and kofi were buying oil and selling arms to the iraqis in violation of international law...the grand cooalition of corpoartate pimps and johns got busted by W

lol, that's gonna come out eventually and thats why they should have joined the cooalition back then! It really is very easy to see all this but common sense doesn't seem to apply with some of these lefty's!

it has it just doesn't get much press....the russsian oil tankers impounded by the iraqis just prior to the UN vote.....german night vision goggle shipment intercepted shortly after the war started....chinese missles captured with a sold on date after the date of the embargo....french businesmen with oil chits...kofi's son being paid after he no longer worked there....sure the sanctions and the inspections were working...working to make the french, german, chinese, russaian, sadam and kofi richer....

beat the US at their own game? .... amatures i tell ya...

I don't think Carter has met a dictator he hasn't liked better than any president, other than himself. I'm not even sure about himself.
