Draft: Right or Wrong?

I think any male living in America should be required to do at least two years in any branch of the military he would see fit to join. I think this should be before college - right out of high school. In order to enroll in any college, proof of the fulfillment of two years military service should be required to be provided. There are exceptions to everything such as health conflicts, and such but other than that - get in line.

BBD - you said almost verbatim what I said several months back on the same subject - could it be that great minds run together?

China's military is deploying a new anti-ship ballistic missile that can sink U.S. aircraft carriers, a weapon that specialists say gives Beijing new power-projection capabilities that will affect U.S. support for its Pacific allies.

Adm. Robert F. Willard, commander of the U.S. Pacific Command, disclosed to a Japanese newspaper on Sunday that the new anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) is now in the early stages of deployment after having undergone extensive testing.

The four-star admiral, who has been an outspoken skeptic of China's claims that its large-scale military buildup is peaceful, said the U.S. deployment assessment is based on China's press reports and continued testing.

"Anti-access/area denial, which is a term that was relatively recently coined, is attempting to represent an entire range of capabilities that China has developed and that other countries have developed," he said.

The new weapons can threaten "archipelagos" in Asia, such as Japan and Philippines, as well as Vietnam and other states that "are falling within the envelope of this, of an A2/AD capability of China," Adm. Willard said.

"That should be concerning - and we know is concerning - to those countries," he said.

Adm. Willard said the new weapons are "an expanded capability that ranges beyond the first island chain and overlaps countries in the region."

"For that reason, it is concerning to Southeast Asia, [and] it remains concerning to the United States."

Wallace "Chip" Gregson, assistant defense secretary for Asian and Pacific security affairs, said in a speech earlier this month that China's new anti-access and area-denial weapons, including the DF-21D, "threaten our primary means of projecting power: our bases, our sea and air assets, and the networks that support them."

He warned that China's military buildup could "upend the regional security balance."

Richard Fisher, a China military-affairs specialist, said the new ASBM is only one part of a series of new Chinese weapons that threaten the region.

Reeeeal big for your clueless self. Get it now?

The facts really speak for themselves, this is the obvious, common sense assessment. How DO you manage such continued ignorance?

China is using its newfound wealth to build up its military, but unlike the US, China's military must remain focused on maintaining internal control over its population. China's influence on the region is increasing...but for you to somehow put them on par with a superpower such as ourselves once again reveals your simplistic views of world afairs.
Keep repeating the same old, irrelevant, obvious points I never denied in the 1st place, it's really helping your credibility.

So what's your point? Russia has enough nuclear warheads to blow us out of the water too, but they don't plan to use them. And neither does China intend to start a war with the U.S. For one thing, it would destroy their new-found capitalist society. China is even warning North Korea to stop its warmongering nonsense. They don't want a war any more than we do.

Annnnd no legit rebuttal. AGAIN.

Your spamming aside. It's obvious to me, you, and now the whole forum, board, shit world:lol: that you can't refute SHIT, none of that article, so you resort to pot shots.

Thank you again for being a shining testament to how accurate my pwned belt is, I might be causing a fad.:cool:

You're done, beat, next time, actually try to debate instead of irrelevant deflections, petty pot shots, etc. Know your betters fakewinger.

AH SHADDAP

You're just too stupid to bother with.

A TRULY universal draft makes good sense in a truly democratic republic.

Since we've never had either, I cannot in good conscience support indentured servitude

I think that was original intent. Citizens having the responsibility of defending the nation..not professional soldiers.

Three years compulsory service right out of HS for ALL Americans, six years for illegals.

I think any male living in America should be required to do at least two years in any branch of the military he would see fit to join. I think this should be before college - right out of high school. In order to enroll in any college, proof of the fulfillment of two years military service should be required to be provided. Problem is most of those males are fat asses whose best skills involve playing video games

But not for long. Just think that all those 3 million who are connected to their fantasy second life in World of War could actually come back down to earth and put on a legitimate costume.

I would be for the draft combined with a strong missile defense system, which we just lost.

Wrong.

Top Missile Defense Expert Supports START Treaty | PR Newswire - Stocks
Effectiveness and viability of New START Treaty and United States missile defenses.-Prior to the entry into force of the New START Treaty, the President shall certify to the Senate, and at the time of the exchange of instruments of ratification shall communicate to the Russian Federation, that it is the policy of the United States to continue development and deployment of United States missile defense systems to defend against missile threats from nations such as North Korea and Iran, including qualitative and quantitative improvements to such systems. Such systems include all phases of the Phased Adaptive Approach to missile defenses in Europe, the modernization of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense system, and the continued development of the two-stage Ground-Based Interceptor as a technological and strategic hedge. The United States believes that these systems do not and will not threaten the strategic balance with the Russian Federation. Consequently, while the United States cannot circumscribe the sovereign rights of the Russian Federation under paragraph 3 of Article XIV of the Treaty, the United States believes continued improvement and deployment of United States missile defense systems do not constitute a basis for questioning the effectiveness and viability of the Treaty, and therefore would not give rise to circumstances justifying the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the Treaty.

25 years old and still the child. Shame that you wasted so much of your life playing video games. But given some time, you may be able to hold credible discussions with the adults. Till then, I guess we have to put up with your posturing

We do not need a draft. I would rather have 12 hard pipe-hittin mother-fuckers (to steal a line from Pulp Fiction) than a bunch of fruit eating momma's boys. Give me someone who wants to be here with me the investment is greater and the payoff would be greater.

Actually, you are the one that needs to hit the books. The USA got involved in the war and took sides before we were attacked.

But you are obviously too uneducated to know that.

You are a fucking idiot and liar abu.:eusa_liar:
You are ignorant of US history.

If you freeze their assets and institute a boycott against one party in a conflict, and at the same time you start giving armaments to the other party, you are no longer neutral. You have officially taken sides in the conflict.

And that is exactly how FDR and the 77th congress dragged us into WWII.

Concerning the Sino-Japanese conflict, the US aggressively moved the Pacific fleet from San Diego to Pearl Harbor, extended the so called "lend-lease Act" to include sending armaments to China, implimented a boycott of petroleum products and scrap metal exports to Japan, and froze Japanese assets in the US. In other words we were not neutral, we actively took sides in the conflict.

And in regards to the European conflict, the US froze all German and Italian assets in the US and started giving massive amounts of military equipment to Great Britian. We actively took sides in the war.

Again, you need to hit the history books.

Blah blah blah the US didn't send its soldiers into the war until Japan attacked them, the US tried to avoid sending troops as long as possible. It sounds like you need to read something else other than the Quran Abu.:clap2:
