Dr. Strangelove Democrats

Lets see?

Who is more like Dr Strangelove and started a war based on advice from chickenhawks and a false threat?

1. George Bush invaded Iraq after telling the world "The smoking gun will be a mushroom cloud"

2. Barack Obama passed a Healthcare Bill
Yep, it's amazing that the "fan" of Dr. Strangelove, in the OP, totally missed what was going on in the film.

I nailed it. I get 10's across the board.

I'm dealing only with The good Doctor and his inability to control his inner Nazi and compared it to modern Democrats inability to do the same and how the State run media slaps their heiling hand down for them. If Dems campaign on what they actually believe we'd be having an entirely different political debate.

BTW, which of the 3 Dingell explanation do you believe?

Idiot Frankie thinks people actually watched any of his videos

And most of the smart guys in the room, including George's daddy, warned of the repercussions if Iraq were actually INVADED. Seems they were all right as well as being correct.

Uhhh.. nope.... pansying to the will of the idiot UN was not done because it would have been a mistake or incorrect to finish the job all the way... it was yet another in the long line of mistakes where our Government was more concerned with touchy-feely global sentiment than doing what was right to begin with

Wrong as usual. Written by George H. W. Bush in his 1998 book "A World Transformed," let me know what part of his predicted outcome did not, in fact, occur:

Trying to eliminate Saddam, extending the ground war into an occupation of Iraq, would have violated our guideline about not changing objectives in midstream, engaging in "mission creep", and would have incurred incalculable human and political costs. Apprehending him was probably impossible. We had been unable to find Noriega in Panama, which we knew intimately. We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq. The coalition would instantly have collapsed, the Arabs deserting it in anger and other allies pulling out as well. Under those circumstances, furthermore, we had been self-consciously trying to set a pattern for handling aggression in the post-cold war world. Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the U.N.'s mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the U.S. could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land. It would have been a dramatically different — and perhaps barren — outcome.

Daddy knows best...

But what you did not notice is where he spoke of the POLITICAL costs.. AKA the global appeasement... which was EXACTLY what this was about and what was a major mistake about his poor decision

Fucking winger idiot

I happened to campaign for Bush41 when he ran against Reagan, so your characterization of me is simply crude, pissed off, childish ignorance. And by the way, that was only ONE quote from the book concerning Iraq and Kuwait. Try reading something of substance every now and then and you might just get a broader education.

And I did my duty during shield and storm

I have plenty of research and perspective into what was going on... I have read and researched much substance beyond my service during that time (as well as service with Bosnia)... I was not one serving blindly and I educated myself then as well as after my separation from service to absorb more and more about situations during my service

What our leadership did during that time was simply global appeasement... and if you refuse to see that, then it is complete blind ignorance....

And of course a book will have the author/subject trying to portray something that want seen... it does not inherently make it truth...

Who's arguing that? Most forward thinking people acknowledge that the US no longer can operate within its own private box and that global influence is a reality. And frankly, there's no better example of that than the MESS that the costly Iraq war was, and still is.
