NEW YORK, April 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In a move that serves as a significant blow to "ex-gay" programs and anti-gay organizations, Dr. Robert Spitzer repudiated his much-criticized 2001 study that claimed some "highly motivated" homosexuals could go from gay to straight. His retraction occurred in an American Prospect magazine article that hit newsstands today. Spitzer's rejection of his own research, which was originally published in the prestigious Archives of Sexual Behavior, is a devastating blow to "ex-gay" organizations because it decisively eliminates their most potent claim that homosexuality can be reversed through therapy and prayer.

I'm sure all those right wing "scientists" could whip something up.

Just saw this covered by Maddow. This Spitzer has really had a history in this field, changing his views constantly.

Why would anyone even care or make an effort to ‘reverse’ homosexuality. The conservative propensity to interfere in one’s personal life is bizarre and troubling.

That sucks for fags, still no cure.

Given that most fags are bisexual, there's no reason to believe that even without changing, that most couldn't live happy, heterosexual lives. Well, no reason except Political Correctness. And, there's still no scientific basis for people being born homosexuals, except for Political Correctness. And, there's still no scientific explanation for why homosexuals can't change, given that attraction is conditional (e.g. someone developing a fetish), except for Political Correctness.

I can tell you why "ex-gay" programs don't work, they're ran by judeo-Evangelicals who think all men should act homosexual. "Here's a hug. Let's talk about loving Jesus in a personal relationship, while we share our feelings. Then, let's watch one of the beefcake films from Sherwood Pictures."

It's the thought of "all that sex". Republicans assume gays must be having sex everywhere with anything that moves because that's what many of them do. Like Bill O'Reilly, they have to harass a women into having sex even though they believe every woman really "wants it"..so it's not really "harassment".

Then, there is "sex" right in the middle of the word, "homosexuality". So enticing. Difficult to resist. (Republican men are now breathing heavy looking for the nearest airport)
