Romney's comments were made about wealth inequality, not about joblessness, and it is a fact that many people are jealous and envious of those who are richer, smarter and better looking than they are. While Obama is trying to worm his way into a second term by preying on these feelings, Romney is explaining that everyone benefits from large accumulations of private wealth because it means, for the most part, that decisions about where to invest that wealth are being made by successful business people who were smart enough to have amassed that wealth instead of, as Obama would have it, politicians and bureaucrats who have no such credentials.

The relevant question is would you rather have successful business people decide which companies are most likely to succeed and create new jobs or would you prefer to have politicians and bureaucrats make investment decisions based on poll ratings and ideologies rather than on which companies are most likely to succeed and create more jobs?

Okay, this is absurd. I've come to appreciate Obama's Presidency alot more than I ever thought I would during the last election. But on what basis can you claim that the "rest of the world" sees him as a hero? On what basis can you claim that the US should see him as a hero? I get that there are good things that he's done, and certainly bringing down bin Laden ranks among the top. But I can't call a President a hero for taking down bin Laden. It's just not enough, in and of itself.

No, private sector growth is the entire solution to a recession. Increased government spending is a band aid that is sometimes needed to staunch the bleeding during a recession. The problem with Obama is that he has nothing but band aids to offer.
