Gingrich clearly presents a conundrum for the right: he has the name recognition they crave, having served in national government. Theres the nostalgia factor of Gingrich taking control of Congress for the GOP after decades of democratic rule. But hes also extremely damaged goods with regard to the esteemed criterion of Family Values.
