Are you talking about the RINO who dropped out in the last couple of weeks of the election, or the Hoffman who lost by around 2,000 votes? I'm sure if the RINO bowed out in a timely manner, you wouldn't have been able to post your post.....so basically, the next election should speak volumes about how America feels about your party.

What party would that be, friend?

I'm not a Democrat, far from it.

But Hoffman lost - Hoffman being the golden boy who was going to prove the significance of the Tea Party movement and cement Palin as a kingmaker. To claim Hoffman would have won if Dede had dropped out earlier is ridiculous, since Hoffman had no money, support or campaign until Palin came in. Without Palin, Dede probably would have beaten Owens. But because of Palin, the seat went Democratic for the first time EVER.

lol, the two candidates who turned down offers of Sarah Palin to campaign for them. The two candidates who distanced themselves from the crackpot right.

The wins in VA and NJ were wins for a sensible, sane GOP. The loss in NY was the result of the wing nuts of the Palin far right. The New Yorkers were quite wise in electing the Democrat rather than validating the tired old ideas of the Palin and the Conservatives.

Obama already secured the disdain and ridicule of conservatives - now his arrogant ignorance seeks to do the same from those in his own party...

Pelosi, Rahm do not scare Rep. DeFazio

Rep. Peter DeFazio’s phone rang. On the other end was Rahm Emanuel.

The White House chief of staff last month expressed frustration with DeFazio’s resignation calls for President Barack Obama’s top two economic aides — Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and White House chief economist Larry Summers — and appealed for cooperation, according to DeFazio.

...Personal calls from Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and former Vice President Al Gore couldn’t persuade him to vote for the Speaker’s climate change bill. He also opposed the $787 billion stimulus, citing concerns that only 7 percent was devoted to infrastructure spending.

DeFazio was one of only two Democrats to vote against those measures and the $700 billion bank bailout. (The other was Rep. Gene Taylor (D-Miss.) a Blue Dog conservative.)

Yet he’s also a pro-gun Democrat who has a B rating from the National Rifle Association.

“I would have less of a voice and I would have less respect if I voted for things I didn’t believe in because of pressure from the leadership,” DeFazio told The Hill in an interview.

Obama himself has taken notice.

“Don’t think we’re not keeping score, brother,” Obama told DeFazio during a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic Caucus, according to members afterward.

Tea Party more popular than Dems, GOP

Posted: Wednesday, December 16, 2009 5:00 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro

Just how angry is the public with the country's two leading political parties? Angry enough that the conservative, libertarian-leaning Tea Party movement is more popular than either the Democratic or the Republican parties, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

The Republican Party maintains its net-negative favorable/unfavorable rating in the poll, with 28 percent viewing it positively and 43 percent seeing it in a negative light.

For the first time in more than two years, the Democratic Party also now holds a net-negative fav/unfav, at 35-45 percent.

By comparison, the NBC/WSJ poll shows the Tea Party movement with a net-positive 41-23 percent score.

Yeah, John McCain calls himself a conservative. We all know how 'real' conservatives feel about that.

Sinatra is twisting, twisting in the wind with the polls. Sinatra won't compare Obama's popularity with that of the GOP or with the Republicans in Congress.

Until our party gets rid of the The Ts and the Sinatras and the other assorted riff raff and wierdos, we will continue to get hammered in the elections.

I am more the Republican Party than you can ever understand!!!!

And the turning of the tide is now upon us...

Oh i get it now...When a Democrat President threatens and intimidates it's called "Joking." Hmm? Nah i'm sorry,i ain't buying that Bull Chit. The Liberals and especially the Liberal Press would be feigning such outrage if this was a Republican President making these kinds of intimidation threats. As usual,Liberals are proving to be such disingenuous hypocrites. Par for the course i guess.

You have your baseless OPINION and that is all you have to offer, as usual. I will take the interpretation of the target of the alleged "threat" who took it as a joke. Which one has more weight? The opinion of libo, a hyper partisan hack on a message board, or the guy the comment was actually directed at??

Oh and I just love the way you create a fictional "what if" situation and then call liberals hypocrites based on how YOU believe liberals would act in your work of fiction. LOL

Gallup: More conservatives than liberals

Conservatives made a slight jump ahead of their political opponents in the past year and now outnumber moderates and liberals in American politics, according to a Gallup survey released Monday.

Forty percent of Americans now describe their political views as conservative, up from 37 percent last year, and 36 percent say they are moderate, down from 37 percent. Twenty percent describe themselves as liberal, a 2-point drop from last year, the polling company reported.

“Changes among political independents appear to be the main reason the percentage of conservatives has increased nationally over the past year: The 35 percent of independents describing their views as conservative in 2009 is up from 29 percent in 2008. By contrast, among Republicans and Democrats, the percentage who are ‘conservative’ has increased by 1 point each,” Gallup said.

“All of this has potentially important implications at the ballot box, particularly for the 2010 midterm elections,” the polling company said. “The question is whether increased conservatism, particularly among independents, will translate into heightened support for Republican candidates. Right now, it appears it may.”

You know that's great and all but the poll says absolutely NOTHING about which party these so-called conservatives lean to. Which is in direct contrast to their previous version of this same poll which clearly stated the following

Thus far in 2009, Gallup has found an average of 36% of Americans considering themselves Democratic, 28% Republican, and 37% independent. When independents are pressed to say which party they lean toward, 51% of Americans identify as Democrats, 39% as Republicans, and only 9% as pure independents. “Conservatives” Are Single-Largest Ideological Group

I wonder why gallup didn't ask similar questions in this latest version of their poll?? Perhaps they didn't like the answers they got the last time they asked them? LOL

Obama got 20% of the vote of people who call themselves conservatives. People self-identify inaccurately. Does anyone honestly think that if this country had twice as many conservatives than liberals, in reality, that we would have significantly Democratic majorities in government from top to bottom nationwide? What the average person considers conservative nowadays is well to the left of what the wingnuts in the blogosphere consider conservative.
