Don't cry Big Oil....

Really... wasnt it bush that JUST lifted that federal ban.. Seriously .. at least know what your talking about before you make assinine arguments...

Bueller... Bueller.... Bueller... Yeah .. thats what I thought... bash the dems even though pubs held power for six years and did nothing.... Just like most republican arguments.. partisan, ignorant and empty...

Do you prefer Fascism or Feudalism?

Every generation, it is often said, must relearn the lessons of history. This generation is getting a crash course.

Shall we have a government of, by, and for We, the People? Or shall we be governed by a powerful elite made up of the super-rich, multi-national corporations, and well-paid shills who do their bidding?

As we view today's corporate takeover of our government, We the People are faced with an historic challenge. As Franklin Roosevelt said in 1936, as the result of "new uses of corporations" a "new royalty" has emerged in America.

"It was natural and perhaps human," Roosevelt said, "that the privileged princes of these new economic dynasties, thirsting for power, reached out for control over Government itself. ... And as a result the average man once more confronts the problem that faced the Minute Man."

I am for freedom and a constitutional republic based on those freedoms

Funny how you are so against the myth that corporations own you and own the country... but you ignore the fact that your socialist ways are indeed a control based system that goes against the very concept of freedom

OMFG.. Where did you take your political science classes dave... Me thinks that dean needs a heads up on the ignorance of there polysci program grads...

Poor Dave. It must be tough traveling around the country and avoiding social programs...roads, bridges, heck, even the internet benefited from our socialist government.

Evidently I did not take them in a place where Marxism is held dearly by the professors, and a socialist leftist agenda is pushed like it was in the hippie days of Berkley

Plus... living, working, succeeding, and dealing in the real world should give you a huge wake-up call against the socialist/marxist ideals that are so easily spouted off by the liberal so-called "intellectuals"

Funny... don't see the government building a bridge for an individual, but for the populace as a whole... taking a bridge away from someone else to build it for another... any free person in this country can travel and conduct commerce freely with our transportation system...

I cannot use your healthcare benefits that you would not be paying for, that I would be paying for... I do not reap the benefits from the other handouts freeloaders get at the expense of those who earn... I can drive on any public road or bridge in the entire nation

Again.. .learn the difference between individual welfare and general welfare... your personal well being is personal or individual welfare.. and that is your responsibility... a military protecting the country as a whole, laws of the land, infrastructure of the country, are all things that promote the general welfare

Ted Stevens ring any bells....

I guess he could be ringing the dinner bell, decked out in his orange jump suit...

Individual welfare affects the general welfare. Hungry people commit crimes. Beggars are a nuisance and a health hazard. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't true. YOU personally benefit greatly from being an American.

I'd love to see a bunch of libertarians put on an island and studied. That's a reality show I'd watch.

Not to mention the majority of people (individuals) on welfare are children... Maybe we could lower the minimum working age.. that and we could make boot straps in smaller sizes...

i don't want an over controlling government just like you don't. I just don't want a government that is owned by the corporations so those corporations can ruin the middle class, which is happening now.

We may have a different opinion on when the government goes too far or what the government should be regulating though. I want government to regulate minimum wage and pollution, or monopolies, or gouging on necessities, which gas is.

But you seem to be ok with corporations owning our politicians. Or you don't get it. And you don't mind the collution and monopolies. YOu are sooo afraid of socialism that you don't listen to anything any of us say. We get what you are all about. That I promise. But as far as where we are coming from, you are clueless.

Just reply, "SOCIALIST" and I'll go back to work. LOL. :eusa_hand:

many things influence many other things... that does not take away the fact that the government is not responsible, nor should be responsible or charged with taking over the personal welfare of individuals...

What next?? Seize all farms because they can effect general welfare? Seize all housing to redistribute, because it can effect general welfare?

Everyone personally benefits from being an American... not everybody benefits from wealth redistribution and entitlements

That's why people should help those less fortunate than themselves. Not the government, but private citizens.

Yeah, he's such a bright, upstanding, honest individual.

Unlike McCain. McCain has clearly flipped for the sake of flipping. Example: You are either for a woman's right to choose or you are anti freedom. You don't just wake up one day and change on something like that. But McCain did.

I've seen interviews where McCain explained exactly why you don't go into Iraq before you finish in Afganistan and that guy is dead. An old cranky bastard took his place.

Tax cuts to the rich during a time of war? McCain was right and now he's wrong.

McCain has no solutions so he attacks Obama everyday. Negative attacks work on the weak minded. You could never negative me into voting for McCain and I'm sure nothing negative about McCain will get you to switch. So at least admit that McCain is appealing to our lowest common denominator. That's because he can't win on substance. Obama is honest. He says he'll consider offshore drilling IF.....

You guys just leave off the rest. :eusa_liar:

In survival of the fittest, people die and people suffer. If you don't care about that, then you don't give shit to people less fortunate.

We should all just cancel our home owners insurance then and stop sharing the risk. We should just hope that people will help us if our homes burn down. :cuckoo:

And you are simply delusional about your conspiracy theories... corporations do not own you or run every last thing now... though that is a great slogan and rallying call when trying to round up votes from those who want the handout of things taken away from others that they think don't deserve what they earn... a lot simpler than thinking and truly understanding

And in hoping you do go away... Socialist systems such as wealth redistribution is all about taking away freedom in the name of governmental control....

Maybe you should also do some research into minimum wage... it's actual purpose (people at 34 years old should in no way be working for minimum wage... by that time if you have not improved your value, skillset, experience etc... then you are a buffoon who has made bad decisions and you need to take PERSONAL responsibility to right yourself).. the effects it has on the workforce, prices of good purchased by those making minimum wage, etc.... but no... you lefties simply use it as a carrot without realizing the actual full spectrum influence a nice sounding minimum wage increase has

Also.... show me where I said I supported collusion and monopolies.... I'll be waiting.... considering I have said exactly the opposite.... whereas you fully support the socialist ideals that many of us have pointed out

Funny... I give to and support many charities... You???

The government is not your mommy....

Believing that it is not government's job to have forced wealth redistribution to go to any schmoe wanting a handout, is not saying that one believes people should die.... though that is another great rallying cry of the uber-leftist

Hmm.. how many bush cabinent people and advisors went to work for the industries that they helped craft legislation for ....
