Why would telling the truth prevent him from becoming president? Americans don't want to know the truth? The ones mostly offended by what he said are tribal minded Hispanics who thinks their ethnic group should be above our immigration laws. At the very least, the OP ignores the demographic reality of millions of Hispanic CITIZENS who resent being slandered and will teach their children to vote "D" forever.

Secondly, our legal processes make mass deportations a delusional pipe dream.

Third, all of the GOP candidates support securing the border as a precondition of any "immigration reform."

AFTER that is done, we should require registration and criminal record checks in order to identify and deport* undesirables and transform the rest into tax payers with NO government benefits for at least 10 years. After that they should become eligible for permanent resident status.

*Return to the U.S. after deportation should be made a felony and subject to a three strikes rule.

No, no and hell no! They all need to go home preferably voluntarily by removing all of the incentives for them to remain here. There is no reform on the table only amnesty. We were promised that the border would be secured with the last amnesty and it wasn't. Fool me once...... We don't need these people for anything and they shouldn't be rewarded for breaking our immigration laws.
