maybe if wingnuts on both sides of the aisles stopped relying on the blogosphere for their information, we'd get some more rational pov's?

my objection to trump, aside from the fact that people voting for someone because he's a celebrity cracks me up... is that he's bankrupted at least two or three different business concerns.

and you want him to control our economy? :cuckoo:

The Donald was there for CPAC publicity. There is no way he will be a serious contender in 2012.

If the GOP is going to pick a business man, I'd rather see them choose Herman Cain.

Now find an article to collaborate the Luxist writer's take on it Ed. Preferably a site that isn't a leftwing hate site and a site that somebody has ever heard of.

Just as the LA Times got it wrong and then set it right, I would like to know that you didn't post another leftwing attack story that wants to believe the worst and doesn't care about facts. I don't trust a single source even when I know it to be generally reliable. I sure am not going to trust a single sources from some unknown obviously leftwing site that I've never heard of. Perhaps you can corroborate the account from a reliable source that most of us have heard of?

I'm not saying it isn't true. I'm just saying I'm not willing to demonize somebody based on false or erroneous evidence, if that's what we're dealing with here.
You can download the court documents from this site!!! Not that that will convince you.

Trump Sued For $10 Million Over Never-Built Condos | Radar Online

A group of seven individuals filed suit against Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and others for fraud, negligence, accounting and other counts regarding a hotel condominium complex in Baja.
The plaintiffs are seeking at least $10 million dollars in damages.
In court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the lawsuit states, "Plaintiffs are a group of individuals who were duped into buying hotel-condominium units that were never built. With the complicity of defendants, the developers of the units depleted Plaintiff's deposits - even though they never broke ground on the project, much less obtained the necessary building permits or construction loans.
DOCUMENTS: Read The Lawsuit Here
"The Trump Defendants falsely led Plaintiffs to believe that they were financial backers of the project, known as the "Trump Ocean Resort Baja. The project was located in northern Baja California, Mexico - a 30 minute drive from downtown San Diego, CA."
The resort was to have consisted of 526 suites and cost approximately $200 million dollars. It was supposed to include a spa, swimming pool, restaurants and shops. According to the lawsuit, the project "failed. Today the project site shows little sign of construction other than a large excavation with six cement pads at the middle of the site."

Does anyone see a pattern here????

Donald Trump sued for racketeering in Panama venture | Jose Lambiet

Palm Beach fixture Donald Trump is being sued for fraud and racketeering in connection with the development of a luxury hotel/condo high-rise in Central America that’s allegedly turning out to be a lot less fancy than investors believed.

– Click here to read the lawsuit
The investors say Trump and Khafif wined and dined them at Palm Beach’s Mar-a-Lago in 2007, and Russia in 2006, then changed the terms of their deals as they finish the Trump Ocean Club in Panama City, Panama.
The investors claim they were offered financing if they put down 30 percent on condos, which cost in the $500,000-range pre-construction. But while the architecturally-breathtaking building is slated to open in the spring, The Trump Organization reneged on an alleged deal to finance the remaining 70 percent.
Trump

And that’s just one of several changes made without the investors’ knowledge, according to the paperwork.
The hotel’s beach club, a strong selling point as it was first planned to be built on the exclusive Contadora Island, has been moved to the more down-market Isla Sabago.
The apartments are smaller than originally promised, according to the lawsuit.
And Trump, who allegedly said his company would open and manage a casino in the hotel, changed his mind.

Trump told me today he’s not the project’s developer. He’s just a front man paid by the Panamanian owners for the use of his name. He said he’s not involved with sales or day-to-day operations.
Besides, Trump added, the investors are probably suing because “they’re feeling buyer’s remorse.”
“I know nothing about this lawsuit,” Trump told Page2Live. “This is just a branding deal. Obviously, locals are involved with sales. I couldn’t develop anything in Panama. It’s a beautiful building, though.”

It's the "Art" of the deal.

After bashing Obama because he was a "celebrity" in 2008, there's a certain amount of irony to some Republicans who now to wish nominate an actual celebrity as their 2012 candidate.

I don't know Boe. You may be right, but I've been watching some of the clips on the morning talk show circuits since the speech. I think he's testing the waters. He's certainly no dummy and knows the obstacles he'll have to get over to be taken as a serious contender. Mr. Foxfyre listened to the speech. He is not in the least a Trump fan--doesn't like him actually--, but he said without hesitation: "He's going to run." He has been an excellent prognosticator in the past when I thought he was frankly out to lunch on his predictions at the time.

I think it bears watching.

Perhaps, but turning the tables is fair play: Now Dems can bitch about any republican candidate's "Celebrity Status"

Don't get me wrong. I so want him to run. It would be better then Palin!!:clap2::razz:

Perhaps, or just focus on the number of times Trump and his businesses have declared bankruptcy. On top of that, he'd start a trade war and seems to be just another run-of-the-mill Republican otherwise.

Not with that hair..lol. I would have to hear him speak more on politics before deciding if he were the better candidate. It is still early.

:eusa_hand:

I'd rather they choose anyone who's name isn't "Herman."

Watcha talkin' about! Herman Rocks!!

That's an improvement over...

Update:

Most nights, O'Reilly on the Factor runs a short clip of some famous person saying or doing something that may or may not be seen as controversial. He asks his listeners to vote on his website whether the person is a 'patriot or a pinhead' in his/her remarks or action.

Friday he ran a clip of Trump's comments on Ron Paul: the "Ron Paul can't win" segment.

He announced the vote tonight: 45% thought Trump a patriot for that comment; 55% thought he was a pinhead.

And I found that interesting. :)

It does appear from our own straw poll here that there isn't a lot of USMB enthusiasm for Mr. Trump's consideration of candidacy. And I still think that he won't run if he thinks he can't win, but if he does run, he'll be formidable candidate.

Bump one more time hoping more folks will at least subscribe here in case the Donald does decide to run. He's making ALL the morning talk show circuits though, so it looks likely that he is thinking very strongly about it.

A perfect example of how the gullible CON$ervative Brotherhood can be fooled an unlimited number of times!!!!

Dump Truck habitually pretends to consider running for president for the ego stroking free publicity, but never runs. This is more of the same for the same gullible suckers.
