The US government has filed a lawsuit against the National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden, alleging that his newly-published memoir 'Permanent Record' violates nondisclosure agreements he signed with the CIA and NSA.

The civil lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, claims that Snowden violated these agreements by not sending a draft of the book to the spy agencies for review – and presumably redaction – before publication. It also alleges that the whistleblower’s public speeches on “intelligence-related matters” violated the agreements.

Rather than pull the book from the shelves, the government wants to pocket all the earnings from its sale

They can't pull the book, that's prior restraint, but they can take his money.

Why is this traitorous scum still alive?

This is what a real patriot looks like. The blow he struck against the surveillance apparatus cannot be praised enough.

A real patriot does not steal more than a million documents, 95% of which had nothing to do with NSA surveillance.

A real patriot does not turn them over to a fence like Assange.

And finally a real patriot does not trade those documents to the Russians for asylum in their country.

He did some good things, our government is bullshit, that still does not excuse the rest of it.

If I purposefully burn your house down and in the process of looting it I save your dog, that does not excuse my action of burning down your house

The hypocrisy of our federal government is over the top. They go after Snowden, yet Hillary as Secretary of State has her server hacked by who knows how many foreign sources, destroys evidence, and lies about it, but is not subject to prosecution.

Justice in the good old USA is a joke.

and this is my issue. different rules for different people will get us all at each others throats. we're most certainly far beyond that point.
