Does this mark the end of our Republic once and for all?

And that's being worked out now. The Wall Street Casino is repudiated.

But the sheriffs WILL show up when many of us lose our jobs and cannot pay our mortgages, believe me.

I expect to see Hoovervilles springing up soon enough.

Although the system is broken from the top, it is those of us on the bottom who will lose, FIRST.

Read about how broken capitalism worked during the last great depression, folks.

The mechanics of the system which is broken continue to function as though nothing is wrong.

And the people who are already just bearly making it are thought bad people who need to be punished for no longer having any money.

2,000,000 WERE facing losing their homes, and many of us sitting in our homes with reasonable mortgages thought that was okay.

Wait until it's 20,000,000 homes forclosed on, and then get back to me, okay?

Many of us who have sane mortgages will suddenly discover that our jobs are no longer there, despite our fabulous skills that we thought made us bulletproof.

You can write programs? So fucking what? Nobody can afford to buy software.

It will be wakeup call for many of you, believe me.

This will prove to many of you smug libertarians what I have been saying all along:

When your neighbors are getting poorer, SO ARE YOU!

I will consider it a tremdous accomplisment if this board is still alive a year from today, folks.

Sure some people will continue to be able to pay their internet bills, but there needs to be a huge population paying their bills to keep it going and one hell of a lot of people are going to have to make some serious choices about what to keep and what to give up and the net is one of those thing a LOT of us are going to shut down if this problem does not resolve itself SOON.

Republicans and Democrats Offer Support for Massive Wall Street Bailout

Flexing its political muscle, Congress insisted on a package that gives lawmakers a stronger hand in controlling the money than the Bush administration had wanted. The rescue plan casts Washington's long shadow over Wall Street with the federal government taking over huge amounts of devalued assets from beleaguered financial firms in exchange for more oversight.

No, the end came in 1913 when the corrupt politicians of that day forked over the Federal Reserve to the 3 richest men in the country. Rockafellor, Carnege & JP Morgan. Then they started the first big Oil Company, Standard Federal. They OWN this country. The politics that go on every 4 years is just to keep us thinking our votes matter.

Watch Freedom to Fascism on UTUBE. Listen to Ron Paul. Anyone who tells you these facts gets slandered. Until we abolish the Federal Reserve and break up their mafia arm called the IRS, nothing will ever change. They own the politicians, so they own you.

They shouldn't be taxing our income. They should be taxing corporations. Can't do business and pay taxes? That's the breaks in a fucking free market. But nothing is FREE. Either pay corporate taxes or go out of business. No more will citizens pay taxes on their income, which is unconstitutional, so the companies can make more of a profit.

This country is fucked up.

The Patriot Act was the beginning of the end of the republic.

ACTUALLY IT STARTED HERE:

New York Times article
Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending
By STEVEN A. HOLMES
Published: September 30, 1999

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.

Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.

In addition, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge much higher interest rates -- anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional loans.

I'll take the Patriot Act any day--that was enacted to protect the American people--over handing my hard earned money out to people who bought homes they could not afford--& our liberal minded politically correct democrats in government-whom pressured our financial institutions to do just that. Now we are signing a huge mortgage for our kids & grandkids to bail out the failed policies of the liberal politically & obviously now the incorrect. "Government is not the solution--it's the problem." Ronald Reagan.

So you believe that before "September 30, 1999" everything was just peachey huh?
Learn your country's history.
More importantly read about the creation of the federal reserve in 1913.
That is the date they drove the first nail into this country's coffin.
Thats when they hijacked this country.

No... the patriot act was enacted to be the first step of taking your civil liberties away.
How does the police being able to search your home, or wiretap you, without a warrant, protect you in any way?
You really should stop watching the news, then regurgitating whatever steaming pile of bullshit they just tried to spoon-feed you.
Just because you saw it on T.V. doesn't mean it's true.
Free your mind, and your ass will follow.

The Patriot Act merely put all the pieces already in law into one convenient package folks.

All those rights most of us thought we lost with the passage of that bill?

We'd alreadly lost those right thanks to the war on drug madness.

Consider that thanks to the war on drugs your money your homes, you guns -- all you posssessions -- can be taken without warrant or due process, and you have to PROVE that your property is NOT the result of some criminal activity.

Now even if you're never charged with a crime, you have to take the government to court to PROVE that you got those posssesions NOT by illegal means.

Nice, huh?

You want to know why there has been this war on drugs?

Because most of you thought that those outrageous unconstiutional laws wouldn't effect you.

Congress passed those laws (and because you are not druggies) they KNEW there would be no public outrage.

Yeah, screw those druggies...they don't deserve any constitutions rights!" many of you thought.

But that's the thing about injustice...if any of us can be treated badly, ALL of us eventually will be treated badly.

"...but when they came for me, there was nobody left to object"

I agree :clap2: I should have worded that better and I appologize.
The patriot act was them trying to legitimize their ability to wipe their collective asses on our constitution, as well as WIDELY expand there ability to do so, *exempt themselves from legal recourse* while doing so, and fund their ability to do so.
*there wasn't much anyone could do legally to stop them before besides a slap on the wrist, but hey who wants a slap on the wrist when you are slowly enslaving a nation.
Our elitists have very sensative wrists, thats why you'll always see 'john smith' from idaho in cuffs because he couldn't pay his taxes, rather than one of our "leaders" (if you can call them that) for brokering a deal that sent weapons to a third world nation and were used by a maniac to kill women and children.
Or a better example, rather than one of our "leaders" who made millions out of the same deals that we're paying 700 billion to bail out.
