Does modern psychology sabotage the potential of our future soldiers?

I just don't know. I would like to know what the board thinks. It seems that after so much threat, after these years of dealing with terrorists... Are our children taught to utilize their emotions and focus their psychological strengths toward the security of our nation, their homeland? So much in our common American culture seems to deter those who seem to be prime soldier/combative minds. So much seems to sabotage, even, those who show real potential to not only represent great leadership and change but prove to have the necessary depths, the necessary levels of understanding in the areas that would only enhance the future of our military. Thoughts?
