I understand that islam had technology and science during the 5th through 11th century from Astronomy, math, etc. Does this religion still practice such today or does it destroy anything that's not part of the koran today???

Some of these countries in the middle east seem to want to wipe everything outside of the words of the koran. I don't like it as it seems that islam is at its low point.

Islam only had those things back then because they conquered the civilizations from whence they came.

Islam doesn't lend itself to science, enlightenment, or learning.

Islamic science didn't just borrow knowledge, it also advanced it in a number of fields. To say differently is just prejudice that doesn't bear close scrutiny. Unfortunately for the civilization, they never seem to have recovered from the sack of Baghdad by the Mongols, remaining mired in the Middle Ages in many ways.
