Does anyone actually think that Donald Trump would make a good President?

Trump is lucky he inherited $150 million from his Father.

$150 million equals 1.5% of Trumps reported financial worth.

And you don't think starting with $150 million had anything to do with it?? In 1968 The Donald joined his old man's already successful company. Real tough beginning. It's what has been happening in this country for the last thirty years:

well, estimates on existing illegal immigrants are all over the board but a number i've heard is 12 million plus....do you really think over 6 million of them are criminals?
no...not 6 million...EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM..be it 6 million or 26 million. "Illegal' being the key word..

I agree to a certain extent on securing the border....just dont know how much id want to spend on an absolutely impervious wall, after all we have a longer border with Canada.

heh heh canada...LMAO...you're seriously going to compare canadians with the 3rd world unskilled peasants flooding in every day? comical!
Ok...if Canadians come in illegally deport them, too. How's that?

thats not illegal in the way I meant

just saying even if you wall of the mexican border you've still got the canadian border, and ocean border for that matter.

Which is a ridiculous thing to say, since neither is even in the same galaxy of problems with the Mexican border.

But hey, if the Canadians ever decide to start funneling uneducated, unskilled, not-real-clear-on-lawful-behavior human flotsam across the northern border, I'm sure we'll all be perfectly happy to recommend the same treatment there.

In the meantime, "We have other borders!" is not only a deflective tactic, but a silly one.

right now drugs come from mexico in submarines......what is to stop mexicans themselves from doing so?

I agree the mexican border should be a priority tho

We don't need to deport those who bring money or jobs. We need to deport those who come for our money and our jobs.

we need to treat all potential immigrants equally,...except for known criminals.
priority to refugees

No, we shouldn't. People who come here legally and follow the rules are different and should be treated differently than people who feel like whatever they want trumps our laws and our rights as citizens. We have enough rude, selfish assholes in this country already, thanks.

If I was at home established instead of on this tablet I would post you a paste and copy of YouTube video gumballs immigration put together by number USA which so that we are importing 1 million immigrants a year and it's not enough there are billions of people who want to come to America who make less than a Mexican in Mexico we can't allow them to all come to America without ruining America for Americans we are Team America first we need to worry about Americans first and not worry so much about everybody else so we don't need to be fair to everybody else we only need to let people in who bring money or jobs for Americans to make American lives better job to make foreigner lives better that's just the way it is

I dont agree with "only those with money or jobs",.....giving immigration priority to those who are rich is immoral...all should have a shot.

I am not saying we need to allow in a a bunch of immigrants, just that all should be given an equal shot for the spots we allow.

I'm sorry, but what is "immoral" about giving priority to people who are actually of some sort of benefit to OUR NATION, rather than acting as though residence/citizenship is some sort of prize we owe to other people and are obligated to award? This isn't the freaking lottery. It's our future.

You need a priority check.

look up the corruption ridden program EB-5, also "programs" that allow in high tech immigrants to undermine wages in that area. also "guest worker" programs...which undermine the free market price of labor.

Only those that will make America greater should be allowed in, period.
No low wage immigrants until every American who wants a job has a job.
I'm fine with not letting in low wage immigrants.....but then to be fair you dont let in the rich either.

Fair to whom? And why is "fair", or any other made-up kindergarten nonsense concept, the guideline you want to work with, rather than the apparently radical notion of "beneficial to the United States"?

Trump had a definition of fair recently that I agree with in regard to how the GOP would treat him. You know it instinctively, or most people do. The eb-5 program is a corruption ridden and yes, immoral program that can, on the one hand exploit immigrants desire to get themselves or their kids into this country, and on the other hand allow lawbreaking immigrants into the country as long as they give some of their il- gotten gains to US "developers"....

we don't need to be fair. We need to let in those who will create jobs for Americans. That means the rich. Pay attention to the fucking goal. The goal is more Americans working. Not in being fair.

the foreign rich also rob Americans of the chance to fund their own projects, development etc.

creating jobs aint my goal....government shouldnt be concerned about that unless it reaches crisis levels..............

so called "economic development" is an excuse for much corruption and graft.

You speak very clearly for someone with his head that far up his colon.

Judging from your hostility, you must be one of the "developers" benefiting from the corrupt EB-5 program.....or someone who has lost the inborn sense of fairness most people have. That's to bad.

There's been a lot of Trump support recently on the boards, but it's almost always been couched in anti-liberal rhetoric - along the lines of "I like Trump because he makes liberals upset". I have yet to see anyone put there cards on the table and publicly state that they think he would be a good President.

So here we go. Let's here some positive things about Donald Trump from the resident supporters.

What qualities does Donald Trump have that would make him a good President?

Trump is lucky he inherited $150 million from his Father. I'm an old man now but anytime a loudmouthed, conceited bastard like him used to show up at the social club where I drank on weekends, somebody would give them a good, old fashioned ass kicking.
So you think you could've made billions out of a 150 million start up fund like Trump did? Most people would go broke within a couple of years of trying.

Okay... here's the part your charts mislead you on... they are not showing you the change in numbers of people belonging to each of the assorted "classes" over that same time period. You are left to assume that the 1% who are shown in 1979 are the same 1% of 2007. This is false. Some people lost their fortunes and aren't in the group anymore, while very many others were in the lower groups back in 1979. You want to picture the 1% as being the same people over time... that is a lie you're being told by Socialists who can only argue points relevant to societies where "class" is assigned at birth and applies until death. In the US, you are totally free to become one of the 1%... people do it every day. Case in point, where do you imagine Oprah Winfrey was on your chart in 1979? We know where she is today.

Now let's get back to Trump... Yes, he did get his start in his father's real estate business, but this has been going on for far longer than the last thirty years. It has probably gone on for most of the past 100k years because it's a typical humanistic trait for fathers to pass down things to their sons.

I never claimed Trump had a humble beginning or real tough beginning. I don't think how you begin in life necessarily has anything to do with the person you ultimately become in life... do you believe that? Are we all automatically to become honest and noble if we were born poor; but mean and crooked if we were born into wealth? Seriously, is THAT what you truly believe about your fellow human beings?

Sorry, folks, but Granny has been absent for a good while AGAIN and I'm behind on lots of posts on lots of subjects. I really don't know where I am right now on politics. I'm at a point where I'm so sick and tired of politicians and empty promises I don't even know that I want to vote anymore...yet on the other hand I know it's not only my right, but my responsibility to do so. I don't see anybody out there worth voting for - sorta thinking about going for Trump just out of spite! LOL! Yes, I'm a registered Republican...but I don't necessarily vote a straight Republican ticket if I think there's, say, one person not a Republican who might be the better person. I don't think Trump's approach or demeanor is necessarily good, but he's bringing up points that do need serious consideration rather than being kept "hush-hush" or brushed under the rug for later consideration...in other words, forgotten.

I look at our border with Canada and we don't have the problems on that border that we have on our border with Mexico. For one thing - Canada doesn't play games about who they're going to let in their country!! I've been over the Peace Bridge between Buffalo, NY and Canada many times, been on both sides at Horseshoe Falls and Niagara Falls. And things are a good bit more strict now than they were when I lived up in Buffalo. Why can't WE get a grip on our southern border with Mexico? It's not just Mexicans sliding in under the wire down there. I have no issues with people who want to come into the US LEGALLY, but I DO have issues with illegal entry at any point of entry.

Trump, I think, has shaken up the Republican Party pretty good by bringing up "career politicians." We have people in Congress who have been there for decades and accomplished little to nothing. Why can't we have term limits? Presidents have term limits, governors have term limits, why not our Senators and Representatives? Do you really think they're going to vote "yes" on term limits? I don't think so. So how do WE THE PEOPLE force the issue?

I'm not sure how I got chosen by the NRSC to (in very flowery words) to be the [ahem] sole representative for my voting district....but they're real clear about wanting my money to support them. The final straw for me with that deal was to have one of the phone solicitors call me and, I MEAN, from the get-go pounce on me and preach my funeral about how un-American I am and when I tried to say something, the guy told me to shut up and let him finish his say and THEN I could have mine. And then he asks at the end, "Can I count on you for a $75 contribution?" Well, folks, I had my say: "NO."

I think in the last year or so it's become blatantly clear to all of us just how out of control and rife with corruption every single government department and agency we have has become over time. It's time for change.

I believe the Right is simply full of fallacy if they think they can secure our borders with any fence.

It's not a matter of simply putting up a fence or a wall and then walking away. We need to let our Border Control have the equipment and manpower they need and we as a people and a government need to have their backs instead of impeding them at every turn. As far as I'm concerned we can let our border states use their National Guard troops, fully loaded with gear including track to track tanks with guns pointed south if that's what it takes to stem the flow of illegal entry. They have a passport and other proper immigration paperwork in hand? Great - let them in with open arms.

Who would have thunk Americans would be calling.to build their own great Wall of China or the Berlin wall?

Ah, yes. You get a new talking point, and instantly start projecting it onto people to avoid having to say something real.

You're a fucktard. I don't need to be part of your "conservative conspiracy du jour" to see that and comment on it.

How much is this going to cost? We should be making money on Commerce at our borders with our Commerce Clause.

its certainly not CONSERVATIVE, in fact its the opposite....it is, in some cases, corrupt developers taking advantage of immigrants...in other cases crooked immigrants getting access because of greedy developers.....

Your ability to talk to yourself would be impressive, if it wasn't so utterly and completely valueless. Sort of like you.
