US clocks to gain 20 min on grid?
Jun 26, 2011, WASHINGTON: A yearlong experiment with the nation's electric grid could mess up traffic lights, security systems and some computers — and make plug-in clocks and appliances like programmable coffeemakers run up to 20 minutes fast.

Supposedly it won't affect GPS, computer clocks, your cell phone just those microwave clocks or clocks that reset to 12:00 when the poser goes off. A little annoyance only and then the cumulative error would be over a large time period. My dollar watches gain a minute or 2 every day, I just reset them once a week and then again there are clocks all around us, in the car, on the phone, and even on the banks in town.
