Pastor Terry Jones is determined to burn copies of the Koran (so-called Muslim holy book) on September 11 in an expression of hatred towards Muslim extremists. He's from the Dove Outreach Church in Gainesville, Fla. and he's not doing more harm than good to the Christian sector. Who would want to burn anyone's holy book, even to avenge extremists? I the YUKON man would, I support the Pastor.

Radical opponents of the Western world and Christian beliefs took over the minds of those who attacked America on September 11, 2001. It was an unthinkable act geared to change our world, which it has on numerous security measures.

Support Pastor Terry. Send him your thanks.

I do not support what he is doing but I support his right to do it.

I feel sorry for his congregation of hateful fearful fools.

I agree completely. Not sure I would do it myself, but I would fight for everyone's right to do so if they choose.

Those who express hatred toward those who would destroy our society are not, repeat NOT, hateful fools.

While I've always supported his right to do it, I didn't support him actually doing it at first.

But the discussions that have transpired here over the last couple of days have changed my mind and now I absolutely want him to go through with it.

If one thing is now more clear than ever, it's that muslims MUST learn to deal with being offended and having their religion insulted if they are ever going to peacefully co-exist with the rest of the world.

Even though Pastor Jone's motives are straight out of the shitter, it's now clear that what he is doing needs to happen.

No, I do not "support" what he is doing. But I "support" his right to be in idiot.

If you are referring to the Koran burners. You are incorrect.
They are obviously hateful to be bruning a holy book of another religious order.
And they are fools if they think it will do one bit of improvement in the situation or towards resolving their hatred.

Pastor Terry is doing what most of us want to do but we haven't the intestinal fortitude to do it. He is a brave man, expressing his freedom to offend who he wants to when he wants to.

God Bless Pastor Terry !

Im shocked that so few of you support the Pastor. Do you pity the Muslim extremists, do you feel sorry for them ? What about our brothers and sisters who died on 9 /11, who died in Iraq, who died in Afghanistan ...Have you NO honour, are you too PC ? Im not.........................

This is pretty much my feewings too. I see a parallel between this act and the Dutch cartoon that made fun of Mohammed. Pointless bashing, but still free expression that pushes the envelope. The world needs thicker skin.

It's No and Yes for me. I think they could express their dislike for Islam in a different way. However it is their right to burn Korans. It kind of supports everything we hold dear about America and its freedoms. I don't want to burn Korans but it is their right to do so. So in some ways this Pastor is proving why we are such a great country. He may not be doing this intentionally but he is doing it. I love this country and am very happy and grateful for the freedom it provides. In some ways this Pastor has only reinforced my belief in this. I may even have to thank him.

I need to burn those hundreds of Gideons Bibles I have been stealing from motel rooms for 50 years.

I was at a hotel two winters back and the bible in the nightstand had a bunch of torn-out gay porn pictures stuffed in it.

No. I don't support him. It's the height of disrespect and uncivility. Not to mention completely contrary to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is about reconciliation between God and men and between men and our fellow men.

This act will do nothing. It gives Pastor Terry publicity. It puts our troops lives in danger. It does nothing to win anyone to the Lord. There is no good point to it.

That's why I started a campaign to have people of faith email Pastor Terry and his group. I've asked them to reach out to him in love, kindness, charity, friendship and truth to encourage them to stop this and find some better way that works reconciliation rather than anger and resentment.

I encourage everyone who can to send them an email. Make it kind. Fill it with love and the Word of God. God can soften every heart. I think the more of us that show alittle faith in persuading them not to, the more of us who exercise our faith and our rights to encourage them to change course, the more likely we can change their direction.

Of course I don't support him. You do not kill and ideology by burning a book. You only inflame the believers.

Your statements only make sense if you believe that most Muslims are terrorist. Is that what you believe?
