I ran across this interesting article a couple of days ago and just wanted to share it with you and see what you think. Do, try to read the entire article. It is most interesting.

By John Blake, CNN

(CNN) - Can you speak Christian?

Have you told anyone “I’m born again?” Have you “walked the aisle” to “pray the prayer?”

Did you ever “name and claim” something and, after getting it, announce, “I’m highly blessed and favored?”

Many Americans are bilingual. They speak a secular language of sports talk, celebrity gossip and current events. But mention religion and some become armchair preachers who pepper their conversations with popular Christian words and trendy theological phrases.

If this is you, some Christian pastors and scholars have some bad news: You may not know what you’re talking about. They say that many contemporary Christians have become pious parrots. They constantly repeat Christian phrases that they don’t understand or distort.

I hope this article is still here when I get back from my trip. It looks interesting. I'm sorry I don't time to read it right now.

I live by the WORD not other people's words. The Bible speaks for itself and each person must let it speak to them and each person interprets it differently. If ye seek ye shall find. There are many false prophets spouting lies, and misrepresentations in this world today but the Bible does not change. In the end you must measure what they say against what the Bible says. If you trust in the Lord and have taken him as your Savior then he will guide you through these turbulent waters.

Only one question for you: Which Bible?

Hmm..wonder if this guy is just accusing the brethren? And also seems like he's generalizing. Each person's relationship with the Lord is just that - very personal and we are all different and also on different learning levels. We are supposed to encourage or edify each other in the Lord/His Word, not tear each other down.

Besides, God's Word says we can test the spirits to see if someone knows Him yet anyhow...

1 John 4
1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,
3 and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

1 Corinthians 12:3
Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

Who is this "John Blake".... Is CNN the next MSNBC?

"He's supposedly a CNN author/contributor. I tried to google him. And NOTHING came up. Which these days is surprising. I tried to find a bio, nothing. I even tried to find a picture of him, nothing. CNN lets this person spew vile articles on CNN's website. He's obsessed with skin color and keeps saying "white people are playing victim" and "white america turned racist after electing Barack Obama" and "Barack will never make any mistakes falling into the black stereotypes". After reading a couple of his articles you could obviously tell he doesn't celebrate the 4th of July (independence day) and he probably mocks people that are patriotic. I'm just curious on what this person looks like. Because I bet he looks crazy in the face. Not even black liberals are this obsessed over "white america is hate filled" like this man is. I know CNN isn't that far left bias as MSNBC but I think CNN is starting to become 100% liberal bias just like MSNBC. Letting this nut spew his anti-patriotic hate and name calling is seriously pathetic on CNN's part. I use to watch CNN and trusted them to be "fair and balanced" but the past 4 years especially the past year it seems CNN is totally starting to go further left of the political spectrum."

CNN is a extremely anti-Christian and pro-Muslim channel, it bashes Christians non-stop 24/7. Interesting but I've never heard about slightest criticizing of Islam there.Only communists, homosexuals, muslims, socialists and leftists of any kind still watch CNN.

Ill believe it when i see it. So far he is falling down on the job. :)

I did think there were some things in this piece that were fair representations, one of those things being the way politicians use the language as a code to Christian voters to say, "I am one of you."

I know a lot of people who speak like this who are NOT what they put themselves out to be. And I know a lot of people who speak like this who ARE what they put themselves out to be. And I know a lot of people who would rather have someone mistake them for less than they are than to mistake them for more than they are, and so while they are very devout people, they do not speak like this.

The Bible is a Tool. The Bible is a Language in Itself. This is nothing new. It is a mind set, it just has been around longer than most of it's competition. Old Religions compare to it, and translate in harmony with it in many ways. Just not all.

The New Age is not It's own mindset? Of course it is.

What I find interesting is that if our government told us that the Bible is al we could read in the way of religious texts, we would be ready to go to war over it. But preachers do that every day and people buy it hook, line, and sinker. What are they so afraid of?
