Do you find the Spanish Version of our Star Spangled Banner Offensive?

Lyrics to 'Nuestro Himno' ('Our Anthem')

Oh decid! Despliega aún su hermosura estrellada
sobre tierra de libres,
la bandera sagrada?

English translation:

By the light of the dawn, do you see arising,
what we proudly hailed at twilight's last fall?
Its stars, its stripes yesterday streamed above fierce combat
a gleaming emblem of victory
and the struggle toward liberty.
Throughout the night, they proclaimed:
"We will defend it!"
Tell me! Does its starry beauty still wave
above the land of the free,
the sacred flag?
Its stars, its stripes,
liberty, we are the same.
We are brothers in our anthem.
In fierce combat, a gleaming emblem of victory
and the struggle toward liberty.
My people fight on.
The time has come to break the chains.
Throughout the night they proclaimed, "We will defend it!"
Tell me! Does its starry beauty still wave
above the land of the free, the sacred flag?

I liked "Jose can you see?" better

That's not even the same song, the English translation I mean! I can see us having to sing this in Spanish class. Well, we'll see about that.

when should we expect the
chinese version
japanese
german
spanish
french
etc.........

me?....i can not wait for the ebonics version

Me? Offended? By a disgusting bastardization of the most patriotically inspiring song ever written? By a politically correct atrocity that may as well be a shit stain on the flag? By the tearing down and whoring out of everything my ancesors dumped their blood sweat and tears into? And all of it done by a group of people that thinks jumping a fence or fording a river in the dead of night against sovreignty laws and then failing to even follow the rules that a natural born citizen must follow then 'earns' that person the same rights that my ancestors fought, bled, and died for? Me? Offended? Never.

Yo, say can you see, muthafucka,
By the dons erlee lite, beeotch.

Just doesn't have the same impact on me. If someone moves to France, do the French respect their language enough to make bilingual signs? How about any other country. If these piss ants sing my National Anthem in anything but perfect english, then it is a fucking travesty. One of the first things I am going to push for when I'm elected to office is english as a national language. No more ESL(English as a Second Language) classes in school. It should be English as a first language. This ain't Canada. ( No offense to the canucks, eh?)

As I go through life, I can honestly say that I NEVER seem to run into a single person that thinks like the mother fuckers that keep INSISTING on selling out America. Who are these sons a bitches, and why does the MAJORITY keep letting them get away with bullshit like this?

Yesterday I was test riding a nasty looking Deluxe with ape hangers and loud Bub drag pipes on it. As I neared a stop sign, a stinking VW bus pulled right out in front of me. I had to slam on the brakes. I noticed right smack, dab in the middle of the back window of this van, a kerry-edwards for president bumper sticker. That just pissed me off more. The puke and his woman just happened to be pulling out onto Mill Street also, so when I had the chance, I wicked the Harley wide open blasting past the assholes as close as I could, pipes fucking roaring, and flipped the fucker off close enough that I could have picked his nose. He veered away from me and slowed way down. I wanted to kick his ass. I want to kick somebody's ass. Any liberal will do, because they're the fucking globalists that are constantly thinking up stupid shit like this spanish lyrics crap. I'd like to kick a liberals ass for ALL the stupid shit they think up.

Blue on the outside and Red on the inside.

These are the people who got offended by the Frito Bandito ------now they run around our country with foreign flags and foreign language?

Because the Star Spangled Banner is our National Anthem, and to have it be translated (innaccurately) to Spanish for use by people that are here ILLEGALLY is viewed, by me at least, as defiling our Anthem, our Flag, and thus our Country. That is the big deal here.

Sent me a copy of the German version.

I will start my own street protests. My slogan, "Ich bin ein Amerikaner."
(Like Berliner, Amerikaner is a type of cake in Germany btw)

I don't find the Spanish version of the song offensive. But I would find it offensive if it was required to be sung in Spanish. It's America. We speak English.

What if it was optional, and you were at a ball game or your kid's soccer match, and the Hispanic people sang it in Spanish? What if they started broadcasting it in both versions over the loudspeaker?
