Put aside whether or not the wall should be built. How genuine do you believe leftists are when they say that the primary reason they don't want the wall built is the money it would cost to build? Are a lot of them simply afraid it might succeed in reducing illegal immigration?

Here's something to think about...................Trump wants to pull 5.1 Billion dollars from the military budget and use it to build his wall.

Well, because most of you have calculators on your phones or computers, and can do the math yourselves, I'm simply gonna tell you what some things in the military cost, and then you can decide if the wall is worth what the military is gonna give up for it.

Example...................An FA-18 fighter jet costs 70.5 million. 5.1 billion divided by 70.5 million is 72,340, which means over 72,000 jets.

F-35 jet, 80 million
B52 stratofortress, 14.43 million

Abrams M1A2 tank, 6.2 million

MRAP vehicle (the kind that protects our troops), 500,000 to 1 million each

Current Arleigh Burke warship, 1.7 billion each

Cost for operating a US Navy carrier with full air wing, 2.5 million per day

Now, this is just a couple of things that the military has, as well as uses every day. Do the calculations yourself, and you can see how much of a negative impact giving 5.1 BILLION dollars to fund the wall from the military budget will have.

Trump was bitching about the readiness of the military and saying that they don't have enough equipment. How is taking 5.1 billion dollars from them for his wall gonna fix that?

it is not the money. DA WALL is a problem for Hispanics who do have impoverished relatives on the other side-----that they will not be able to GET OUT----But there are OTHER INTEREST groups. Drug criminals are delighted with the porous border ----from BOTH sides of the border. Also----the southern border is a conduit for Islamic terrorists---back and forth. As to tunnels---they are very hard to create and can be found. -----right now the southern border is like an opened door in a slum

Hate to tell you irosie, but tunnels are pretty damn hard to detect and find. If you don't know where the opening is on one side or the other, chances of finding one are pretty slim, as they don't have ground penetrating radar that reliably finds them yet.

As far as the scare rhetoric about Islamic terrorists going back and forth over the southern border? Not exactly true. There have been over 3,700 people who were on watchlists as terrorists or suspected terrorists, and out of that over 3,700 people that were caught last year? Only 12 of them were caught trying to cross the southern border. The other almost 3,700 were caught at the airports.
