There ARE actually some pros and cons on the subject.

TDM wouldn't see that or admit it even if she could see it.

But still, although I do not seek a Timocracy, I DO grok the desirability of having some vested-interest in the system as a prerequisite to having a say in it.

Not surprisingly, TDM overlooks the "honor" component of the definition.
